entire surface has detailed carvings depicting a scene from Mahabharata. On either sides of the

rock one can see various images of demi-gods, birds, beasts, and Nagas and Nymphs all

mingling into the theme of Arjuna's penance.

The main hill at the Mamallapuram is having the number of halls and pillared into the rock face.

These mandapas are the most graceful and the most indigenous sculptures that are made by

the artistry of the Pallavan rock cutter. Mahabalipuram is land of juxtaposed beauty of
