DAY 1 ULAANBAATAR Arrival at Ulaanbaatar Airport. Transfer to the centre of the Capital - Check-in at the hotel - Change money. Lunch free. In the afternoon visit Gandan Monastery, the most important Buddhist core for the Mongolian people. Here, before the Soviet purges, there were more than 10.000 monks. You’ll visit the Buddhist schools, the Tibetan-style temple which contains a 26 mt. high Avalokitesvara’s golden statue, the Buddhist temples where it is possible to attend lamas’ prayers. Dinner free. . Overnight stay in hotel. (B&B) DAY 2 ULAANBAATAR - ULGII Breakfast. Transfer to the airport and flight to Ulgii, the Bayan-Ulgii province administrative centre and capital of the Mongolian- Kazakh ethnic group. The flight will take approximately 4 hours. Arrival in Ulgii and transfer to the gers (yurts) settled close to the Eagle Festival area. Time free for rest. Dinner at a local Muslim restaurant. Overnight stay at the gers (4-5 persons/ger). (HB) DAY 3 + 4 ULGII - EAGLE FESTIVAL Breakfast. The two days are dedicated to the Eagle Festival; On the first morning we’ll attend the Opening Ceremony. The Festival is the annual meeting of the best experienced eagle hunters and of their families before wintertime. You will witness the parade during which the hunters show proudly their birds of prey. You will witness competitions and challenges that will judge the best trainers. Lunches picnic. DAY 5ULGII - ACHIIT NUUR - ULGIIBreakfast. Today we’ll derive across this pristine, wild and out of the way region ruled by the Altaj Mountains. We’ll move to Achiit Nuur (lake) settled in one of the most impressive landscapes of all Mongolia. Lunch picnic. In the late afternoon drive back to Ulgii. Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay at ger (FB).

DAY 6ULGII - ULAANBAATARBreakfast. Morning free and possible visit to the local bazar. Lunch free.. In the afternoon flight to Ulaanbaatar. Arrival and transfer to downtown. Dinner free. Overnight stay in hotel (B&B)

DAY 7ULAANBAATARBreakfast. In the morning visit the Natural Science Museum a unique collection of Dinosaur fossils such as Tarbosaurus (a relative of the T-Rex), Protoceratops, eggs,... Lunch free. In the afternoon visit Choijin Lama Museum where you can see a wonderful collection of Tsam Masks, original and used in the past by the monks during ceremonies and sacred performances. Free time for shopping. Dinner free. Overnight stay. (B&B)
