Minutes of the Meeting
June 18, 2010
The meeting was held at Al and Patti Berg’s hangar in Winona.
Meeting was called to order by President Marsolek at 7:05 PM.
The Minutes of the May meeting were approved as posted.
Treasurer Helen Marsolek reported the balance on hand was $2926.67s and her report was approved.
Old Business:
The Fly-In will be held July 17 from 8 to 12 at the Rushford Airport during Rushford Days. After a bit of discus-
sion, the menu will be: Pancakes, Sausage Links, Scrambled eggs, OJ, Milk, and Coffee.
Allen, Max, Helen, and Lori will handle the food; Lowell will marshal aircraft; Russ on the radio; Bill Davidson
(Backup); Russ will take care of advertising.
Cleanup prior to the event will be Thursday, July 15.
New Business:
Russ reported that Britt Emmons, daughter of Tim and Jenny Emmons will attend the Women Soar EAA program
in July. The Chapter has budgeted for two more women to attend. Several who had expressed an interest will not
be able to attend.
Walt reported that the Chapter did not appear to have a valid Employer Identification Number as required by EAA
and the IRS and has since obtained the number and will check, along with Tom Lee, on Tax-Exempt status with
the IRS.
Meeting adjourned at 8:05 PM.
Other discussions:
Lowell reported on an adventure of flying an Aviat Husky and an RV8 from Anchorage, Alaska 3300 miles back
to Minnesota.
Plans are being made for Oshkosh. Plan on sharing itineraries at the July meeting.

Interesting items from the Chapter By-Laws:
Article VIII. Chapter Board of Directors
1. The business and property of the Chapter shall be conducted and controlled by the Chapter Board of Di-
rectors,
2. The Chapter Board of Directors shall consist of the following:
a. Class I Director: Class I Directors shall be the Chapter President, Chapter Vice President, Chapter
Secretary, and Chapter Treasurer.
b. Class H Director: Class H Directors shall be three (3) to nine (9) additional members elected to the
position of Class II Director.
In July the President shall appoint a Nominating Committee of at least 3 chapter members, announce and pub-
lish their names. The committee shall canvas the existing Board members and membership to see who is interested
and for what positions and report at the October meeting. Elections to be held at the November meeting. All newly
elected Chapter Officers and Board Members shall assume their responsibilities at the December meeting, but no
later than January 1.
The Chapter Membership Committee, consisting of about 4 or 5 members, shall keep records of membership
and also look for ways to retain existing EAA and Chapter Members. Further, the Chapter Membership
Committee shall look for opportunities to recruit new EAA and Chapter Members,

Bearhawk Project - Accepting offers - Owner deceased. Built by
experienced mechanic and EAA Technical Counselor who was building his ninth
and tenth experimental aircraft when he died. Wings, ailerons, flaps and tanks
complete. Airframe completely welding and covered. All tail feathers complete.
Landing gear welded but not complete. Nothing firewall forward. Located near

Piper Cub replica - Accepting offers - Built from scratch using
Wag-Aero plans. Had been called a Cubby, now referred to as the Sport Trainer.
Build in early 80s and flown. Revmaster engine, no prop. Dirty but always
stored inside. Wood wings. Broken longeron. Last flown around 1996. Should
be recovered and longeron repaired. Probably also needs different engine. Owner
was an EAA Technical Counselor when he died. Was working on his ninth and
