Three stages (13 to 15) of the Alpe Adria Trail lead directlyinto the Nockberge Biosphere Park from the Erlacherhausvia Falkerthaus and Lärchenhütte to Bad Kleinkirchheim. The trail then continues to Arriach.

After Markus joined the Kärntnerhof team in December 2011it didn’t take long before he found the way to our guests’ heart through their stomach.Born in Steinfeld, he held his first professional positionsat Arlberg and Seefeld, before moving on to Carinthia where hehas worked in Pörtschach, lake Faaker See and Turrach. With his friendly and professional attitude he knows how to inspire his motivated colleagues to conjure delicious combinations of traditional Carinthian recipes and light Alps-Adriatic cuisine

General hotel information Arrival and departureYour room is available from 3 pm on the day of arrival. Check-in is pos-sible until 9.30 pm. In case of later arrival we request that you let us know. Please vacate your room by 11 am at the latest on the day of de-parture. Subject to availability we can offer a later check-out. Should you wish to use our spa area after check-out please let us know in due time. Local and tourist tax (2.97 per person and night) are not included in the room rate and have to be paid on the spot. Children and teens (up until age 17) are charged € 0.47 per night.

The nature area surrounding the hotel, as well as the 300 m2 large indoor adventure world, guarantee boundless fun. Whether romping around on the playground with slides and swings or joining in the activities on offer in Oskar’s club house our little guests are sure to have plenty of space for getting active, playing games, coloring or doing handicrafts. Alex our family coach takes care of an entertaining program for all ages.

Adventure indoor pool with whirlpool provide watery enjoyment and those looking for sportive activities will be spoilt for choice with pit-pat, mini golf, tennis, table tennis and pool billiards facilities.

With the ski nursery of the Krainer ski and sports school right at the hotel’s doorstep, winter skiing fun couldn’t possibly be more convenient. www.sportschule.at.

We are well aware that parents don’t always have as much time available for their children as they would like to. This is the reason why we would like to give all families the opportunity to participate in holiday activities such as playing games, hiking, swimming and reading to enjoy this precious time together.

Our children and family programs focus on that idea, meaning that parents too, are invited to join in one of the many fun activities together with their kids once in a while. Of course, there’s still plenty of time for mummy and daddy to take a break and retire. Oskar’s weekly program targets children from age 3. “Experience“ is one of the main issues at hotel Kärntnerhof! However, Alex, our family coach encourages children to become self-aware by playing creative games, exploring craftsmanship and joining in dynamic activity projects such as children’s yoga for example, during which the little ones try out their first yoga exercises by imitating animals and situations. Regular training helps the children to build up physical confidence, find better balance and improve coordination and concentration skills in our increasingly fast-paced time.

Again, Alex has come up with more exciting ideas for the next months including discovering the wondrous world of nature and plants of the surrounding meadows and hills withinthe “nature school“ program or mixing one’s own deliciousice-cream.

As Alexandra says:“There is something special to discover beneath each leafand each stone and we should again sharpen our perceptionfor the little things in our life.“
