Check to ensure you satisfy the registration criteriaIf you are uncertain whether you should satify the registration criteria, do consult a GST consutlant.
General rule : Any person who makes a taxable supply for business purposes and the taxable turnover of that supply exceeds the threshold of RM500,000 is required to be registered for GST.
NEW DEFINITION OF FOR SMESTEP TWO :

If you are uncertain whether you should satify the registration criteria, do consult a GST consutlant.
Manufacturing: Sales turnover not exceeding RM50 million OR full-time employees not exceeding 200 workers
Services and other sectors: Sales turnover not exceeding RM20 million OR full-time employees not exceeding 75 workers

In addition there must be minimum local equity of more than 50%

Subsidiaries of the following entities:(i) Public-listed companies in the main board.(ii) Large firms, multinational corporations (MNCs), Government-linked companies (GLCs), Syarikat Menteri Kewangan Diperbadankan (MKDs) and State-owned enterprises.
