This full-day workshop is directed at those who are preparing to take the CIC® certification examination for the first time. The exam reflects the new National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) healthcare-associated infection definitions and is geared toward infection preventionists (IPs) who have at least two years of experience in the field. Individuals interested in learning more about certification or acquiring basic infection prevention and control (IPC) knowledge, and those preparing for re-certification, are welcome to attend and encouraged to participate in the discussions and group activities.

She hosts the show “On Second Thought” at GPB in Atlanta and has been a host and correspondent for NPR and PRI since 2006. Through enlightened discussion of generational issues, Dr. Saint will show you how to engage and motivate the healthcare workers and employees of today by fostering mission-driven impact, and conclude with how mindfulness can improve both quality and worker well-being. Dr. Saint’s research focuses on enhancing patient safety by preventing healthcare-associated complications with a special focus on catheter-related infections, translating research findings into practice, and medical decision-making.
