DJ Naiki’s 22 years of DJ’s experience didn’t say much about his passion for music. Rewind back to 1990, started out as running around serving drinks in Sendai night club, Northern Japan. It was not a career path he was after. He was there to be close to the thing he love the most, music.
He gathered himself enough money to buy himself his first turn table and enough equipment to practice. Also enough observations from the back of the DJ booth to get him by. Came the day he was waiting for, he was approached by the club owner to start DJing as a resident DJ. And there was no looking back.
Two years of juggling two careers, a resident DJ by night 7 nights a week. He was also running Sendai's events as Light and Sound Engineering by day, 7 days a week. He broke his back, due to the lack of technology back in the days. He had to carry four crates of Vinyls to every club he DJs. He was ready to, move to the next stage of his career. Sydney.
In 1994, the Japanese man arrived in Sydney, with zero English speaking ability but music speaks for itself. He handed his mix tapes to clubs, surprised by his skills, the club owners hired him without any hesitation. Since then he was juggling even more clubs than he did in Japan.

Career
Although he is a regular DJ at many famous clubs in Sydney, he had his own national tour that included Canberra, Cairns, Perth, Brisbane and Queensland. Other destinations include; Indonesia and Japan.
DJ Naiki has performed at many high profile shows and after parties, with groups like Naughty By Nature, DJ Ca$h Money, Mystro, DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Krush Tour, NSW DMC Finals 1999 - 2002, and was one of the official DJs at the Olympic Village during the Sydney Olympics. Most recently DJ Naiki opened up the Sydney show of the Mobb Deep Blood Money Tour.

StyleThrough his fast cuts, and awesome music selection, he became one of Australia's Premier Hip-Hop and R'N'B DJs. DJ Naiki is also renowned for his incredible record collection, and his classic old school mix tapes. He is known as a Hip-Hop influencer, DJ Naiki teamed up with long time friends DJ Duggs, and Kavi-R from Ackshun Entertainment and collectively started " O-ii-shi ", a monthly Hip-Hop event which has been running since, June 1999.
