STEcontrolThe STE (Sequential Track Entry) system means that when the machine enters the track, the bogies are engaged in sequence, ensuring permanent control and safety.
GettingontrackTrack entry is simple and fast with a bogey control lever. Wide clearing angles at the front and rear (24°) make it easy to get on track, whatever the obstacles.
OscillationlockLike the DX160w wheel excavator, the Rail and Road version has a front axle oscillation lock to increase lifting capacity and machine stability. For rail use this is coupled with a second independent system installed on the bogie-axle system.
MaximumsurfacecontactThe bogie-axle drive system acts directly on single tyres. The drum maintains constant contact with the tyre surface for smooth, powerful traction. The system results in a reduced stopping distance and incredibly reliable braking that easily meets SNCF regulations.
CompactundercarriageAll chassis components are situated well within standard NF F 58-003 gauge limits. Therefore there is no need to detach safety boxes and no danger of obstruction to the undercarriage. The machine is equipped with electrically isolated bogies as standard.

AdaptabletoanysiteEvery construction site is different. The DOOSAN Rail and Road Excavator has been designed to adapt to a wide range of working conditions. Its excavation depth (3,160 mm in the mono boom version and 3,700 in the articulated boom version) is particularly notable. The maximum working height is 7,700 mm in the mono boom version (in road use) and 8,500 mm in the articulated boom version. Operations under power lines are made easier and safer by the linear position of the arm components.
FastandflexibleIts speed of travel makes the DX160w RW extremely efficient. It moves at 20 km/h on the road and approximately 25 km/h on rail (+/- 3km/h).
Efficiency is also maximized at the bucket, arm and boom to boost productivity. The DX160w RW is characterised by its excellent combination of turret rotation, front equipment and bucket movements.

MinimalcongestionTo meet SNCF NF F 58-003 security standards, rear overhang is limited to 1570 mm, while front overhang is only 2030 mm. This allows work without obstructing parallel tracks, railway stations and any utility points along the track.

EngineoilfilterThe engine oil filter offers a high level of filtration allowing a long interval of 500 hours between changes. It is easy to access and is positioned to avoid contaminating the surrounding environment.
ProtectiveoilreturnfilterThe protection of the hydraulic system is made more effective by the use of glass fibre technology in the main oil return filter. With more than 99.5% of foreign particles filtered out, the oil change interval is increased.
AircleanerThe large capacity forced air cleaner removes over 99% of airborne particles. This reduces the risk of engine contamination and makes cleaning and cartridge change intervals greater.
FuelfilterHighly efficient fuel filtration is achieved by the use of multiple filters. These include a fuel pre-filter fitted with a water separator that removes almost all moisture from the fuel.
AccessiblepartsAccess to the various radiators is very easy, making cleaning easier. All engine parts can be easily reached via the top and side panels.
