Tesco PLC is a brand name in the retail industry in the global world. The main strength of the
organization is the number of employees which the organization has in the different outlets in
the several different countries wherever the organization is established. The organization is
very popular and well-known for its brand recognition and also for its brand influence over
the global customers. The balanced scorecard (BSC) approach is a very apt and an
appropriate organizational strategy to cope up with the regular problems which the
organizational managers might face with the employees of the organization on a daily basis.
The balanced scorecard approach helps and assists the organizational managers to keep a
track and to keep a supervision on the performance of the employees each day of work at the
work place. The most important aspect of the BSCbalanced scorecard approach is the fact
that every employee working in a particular organization can actually understand his/her own
actual annual performance. The managers can also understand and analyse where they have
gone wrong or which are the areas they need to improve on, as far as the performances of the
employees and the managers of a particular organization are concerned. There is a checklist
which can be of great use while using and utilizing the BSCbalanced scorecard approach by
the managers of Tesco PLC to the maximum. This is because the checklist in the balanced
scorecard approach gives not only the positive aspects but also the negative and the neutral
aspects of organizational performance of both the employees as well as the managers of any
organization.
