The Ducks have led the league in attendance 14 times in their first 17 seasons. Ducks vs. Skeeters: Tonight marks the fourth meeting of the season as well as the 103rd all-time meeting between the Ducks and Skeeters. The Skeeters lead the all-time series by a 52-50 margin and have a 31-19 advantage at Constellation Field. Dating back to June 10, the Ducks have clubbed 14 home runs in their past 12 games and now have 45 as a team this season. The flurry comes after a stretch where they hit just one home run in a total of six games from June 3 through 9. His only other three-hit game of 2017 came on June 2 at Bridgeport in game two of a double- header. LAST TIME OUT: Rafael Perez turned in his fourth quality start of the year, as the Ducks defeated the Lancaster Barnstormers on Sunday to close out their most recent road trip. The southpaw gave up just two runs on six hits and a walk over seven innings of work while striking out two batters. He was very economical as well, throwing 76 pitches, 57 of which were strikes. His only blemish was a two-run home run by K.C. Hobson in the seventh inning. Patrick Crider and Amalio Diaz each pitched a scoreless inning to close out the win. COMMAND AND CONQUER: Perez has been one of the top start ing pitchers for the Ducks this season because of his supreme control and command of his arsenal. He has only walked multiple batters in two outings this season, and he sports an excellent 1.6 BB/9.0 IP ratio. Additionally, Perez has not hit a batter this season, and has thrown just one wild pitch. CLEVELAND ROCKS: Perez spent seven seasons as a member of the Cleveland Indians, mostly serving as a left-handed setup man. In 338 career MLB relief appearances, Perez compiled a 3.64 ERA and registered three saves. He made a name for himself by generating groundballs at a 54.5% rate throughout his career, well above the MLB average of around 44%.

PITCHER TIDBITS Perez was originally signed by the Cleveland Indians as a non-drafted free

agent on January 25, 2002. Made his MLB Debut on April 20, 2006, pitching a perfect inning of relief at

Camden Yards against the Baltimore Orioles, striking out Brian Roberts and Melvin Mora.

After posting a 1.78 ERA in 44 appearances during the 2007 season, ESPN analyst Peter Gammons called Perez, “Arguably the best left-handed reliever on the planet.”

Tied for second in the American league in appearances in 2011 (71), and finished in the top 10 in appearances in 2010 (t-10th, 70) and 2008 (t-6th, 73).

Perez was born in Santo Domingo, DR and has resided on Long Island since his days as a Cleveland Indian.
