Borrowing and Returning Each class visits the library as part of teacher release time. Students rotate through music, library and science lessons as part of the weekly timetable.

Class Library Visits Monday – Stage 3 (Years 5&6) classes, Tuesday – Stage 2 Years 3&4) classes, Wednesday all Kindergarten classes + 1/2T and K/1C, and Thursday Stage 1 (Year 1&2). Students are requested to have a bag to borrow books. Books are borrowed for 2 weeks however, they can be returned at any time during that two weeks. Weekly borrowing helps to establish a routine for students. During class visits students learn about topics related to class units, research, read, listen to stories, borrow and return and enjoy the library facilities. All children are encouraged to borrow weekly. Students may also return and borrow before school and at lunch.

Book Club Book Club pamphlets for Issue 7 have arrived. They will be distributed to classes this week. All orders will be due by Friday 10th November. Online orders will close at 1.30pm to allow for processing. If you are purchasing “surprises” let me know and I can keep it aside to be collected. Students with vouchers from Book Week can claim these from this issue or the next one. There will only be one more issue for 2018. Thank you for supporting our school library. Have a great week and make sure your children catch you reading. Sue Buttrey Teacher Librarian

Moses Goire’s Visit from Life Charity Focus Uganda We were so very fortunate to have Moses Goire founder of Life Charity Focus Uganda visit Dubbo South Public School to share with us news about our sponsor child Zahara. Zahara is 6 years old and lives in Uganda. The students at Dubbo South Public School support her education and health through our Making a Difference program. Moses was a sponsor child himself. Twenty three years ago Jack and Dionne Carter of Nyngan sponsored an 8 year old Moses. This allowed Moses to complete primary school, high school and finally university. Moses decided he wanted to give back to his community and started the Joy Blessed School. Over 500 students attend this school and 105 children are sponsored through the Life Charity Focus Uganda sponsorship program that Moses also initiated. Many of the sponsors are from around this region. The beauty of this sponsorship program is the personal updates and photos you receive so you can see the real impact you are having on a child’s life. Go check out their website for more details www.lifecharityfocus.com Facebook: Life Charity Focus Uganda

Tomas Moses was thrilled to donate his old glasses he didn’t need any more. It was a special moment when one Moses met another. - Mrs Prince
