DUAL ADMISSION PROGRAM

Who is eligible for Dual Admission?Students may be admitted to the Dual Admission program directly out of high school depending on the strength of their academic program and performance. Students with less than 25 transferable college credits are encouraged to apply to the program. In addition, students with more than 25 transferable credits may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Once accepted into the Dual Admission program, students must complete a minimum of 25 transferable Tri-C credits, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, and have completed ENG 1010 and 1020 and MATH 1240 (liberal arts majors), MATH 1370 (education majors) or MATH 1470 (business majors) to be guaranteed degree-seeking admission to BW. Dual admission candidates will be encouraged to complete an Associate degree at Tri-C.

How do I apply for the Dual Admission Program?Both Tri-C’s application and BW’s supplemental application must be completed and submitted to Tri-C along with the appropriate transcripts.Please refer to the BW supplemental application for details. Once all of the information is received, students will receive notification of admission to the program. After completion of coursework at Tri-C, students will need to update their information when they enter BW to complete their Bachelor degree.

Participating in the program allows you to use the classes, services and expertise of two outstanding schools. Having the opportunity to meet and work with staff from both Tri-C and BW will provide you accurate information to ensure that classes will count toward your Associate and Bachelor degrees, and to ensure that your transition between colleges is a smooth one.

Other benefits include:

• Guaranteed acceptance to BW

• One application process for both Tri-C and BW

• Transfer to BW with junior-level standing and an Associate degree

• Access to advisors at both Tri-C and BW who

will monitor your progress

• Tri-C transcripts forwarded to BW at the end of each semester

• Opportunity to enroll in one BW class (100 or 200 level, if open) each Fall and Spring semester while attending Tri-C. Limited to one class per semester up to four semesters.

• Access to BW services and facilities including: * library and recreational facilities * career services and internship opportunities * the BW web portal and campus events

Paying for your BW educationWhile attending Tri-C, full-time students pay the Tri-C tuition rate for the courses they take at BW. Part-time students pay 50% of the BW tuition rate. Full-time students who have a minimum GPA of 3.0 are eligible for transfer scholarships ranging from $7,000 to $11,000. Associate Awards are given to full-time students who complete their two-year degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.75.

Dual Admission is a special transfer program that provides an opportunity for students to complete an Associate degree at Cuyahoga Community College and also be guaranteed admission to Baldwin Wallace University. Students may apply and be admitted to the Dual Admission Program directly out of high school or as a college transfer student.

If a student does not complete the requirements of the Dual Admission program, can they still attend BW? Yes. In this case, the student must submit a traditional transfer application. The Admission Committee will review the application to determine admission to the University.

Can a student transfer prior to earning their Associate degree from Tri-C?Yes, however, students are encouraged to complete their Associate degree and transfer into BW with junior-level standing. Dual Admission students must complete at least 25 transferable credits at Tri-C, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, and completion of ENG 1010, ENG 1020, and MATH 1240 (liberal arts majors), MATH 1370 (education majors) or MATH 1470 (business majors).

Does a student need to declare a major at the time they enter the Dual Admission program? No, but it is helpful if a major is declared. Declaring a major will clearly help with the selection of courses at Tri-C and BW. Students are strongly encouraged to have declared a major by the end of their sophomore year.

Can a student who previously attended another college enroll in the Dual Admission program?Yes, but students are encouraged to talk with a BW Dual Admission advisor prior to enrollment. They would still need to complete at least 25 transferable credits at Tri-C to be considered

for Dual Admission, so it would depend on how much college work has been completed, at what level, and the identification of academic goals and enrollment plans.

Does a student need to apply for Transfer scholarships?No. When a student is ready to enroll full-time at BW, the Scholarship Committee will review his/her academic record and award the appropriate scholarship.

Does a student need to be full-time to be eligible for the Dual Admission Program?No. Students can participate in the Dual Admission Program whether it is part-time (1-11 credits) or full-time (12-18 credits).

If a student enrolls in the Dual Admission Program, but does not transfer for two years, what BW catalog do they follow?The date a student actually enrolls in his/her first BW class, either as a cross-registered student or a transfer student, will determine the catalog to be followed to complete bachelor degree requirements for graduation at BW.

Can a student participate in intercollegiate athletics while enrolled in the Dual Admission Program? Students must be enrolled full-time (12-18 semester hours) in BW coursework as a degree-seeking student to be eligible to participate in intercollegiate athletics at BW.
