The DSOL is off to a fabulous start for 2016! I had the privilege of speaking at the Pres-ton Center Rotary Club this month thanks to league member Pat McLaughlin. When the scheduled speaker for the group’s monthly meeting as unable to attend, she suggested that I come and speak about the mission of the DSOL and our many fundraising activities. Everyone was really impressed with our success and the way we support the DSO.

We are just days away from the Junior Symphony Ball! This year’s event will be held at the Southside Ballroom on January 23rd. The Committee was worked incredibly hard to make this year’s JSB one of the most successful yet! Mari Epperson, Sandy Secor and I will be dropping by to have our picture taken with “Rodeo” the miniature baby goat and to congratulate the chairmen, Kendall Klingaman, Wade “Buzz” Shike, Reagan Loftus, Michael Hodak, Abby Beiriger, Hunter Alexander,Tasha Alexander, Susan Beiriger, Allison Shike Kathy Sugarek, Libe Hodak-Linsey and Teresa Loftus on their suc-cess.

After an exciting and elegant round of parties over the holidays, our 2016 Debutantes are just a month away from making their formal bow. Many thanks to Lisa and Kenny Troutt for opening their fabulous home for the Holiday Tea for the Debs, their moms, the Honor Guard moms and various board members. The tea was followed up on the weekend with the Holiday Cocktail party hosted by Karina and Robert Woolley. The debutantes, Honor Guard members and their parents had a won-derful time! Special thanks goes to Dakota’s – they underwrote ALL the food for the cocktail party. Please consider patronizing Dakota’s restaurant the next time to dine out and thank them for their generous support of the 30th Annual Presentation Ball.

Don’t forget to RSVP to the Valentine’s Tea which will be held at Lake-wood Country Club on February 3rd. You will hear beautiful, music, catch up with old friends (and make new ones) and have a lovely meal – I hope to see everyone there!
