important issue

During application of a water borne lacquer,

de-lamination occurs at the edges of the laminate....

and so far, we cannot solve this....

The adhesive film does not dissolve in water

Conclusion: The adhesive itself is not water sensitive

...and this is what we

tried and learned

ourselves already

Delamination most probably does not occur during application

of the lacquer, but only during/after drying.

Delamination also occurs by applying water instead of the lacquer

Conclusion: Water is responsible for delamination, not an ingredient in the lacquer

There is still adhesive present on the two delaminated sides

Conclusion: Adhesion to wood is good enough

Without lacquer, the

mechanical properties of the laminate are good and outperform current adhesives --

> the adhesive is strong enough
