that content management systems have become a high priority for many businesses. In this age of citizen journalism and blog posts and free flowing articles over the web, many companies have a basic requirement that enables them to lock down on their content management system to make things easier. While creating this, many companies need to create online communities to share, distribute and categorize their workload. Most IT or Business professional have side with using such systems as an effective way to grow your venture and get to target goals locked in as you start to execute your business plans. The current market hold various content management systems but Drupal and Adobe CQ5 seem to stand out for two very different reasons and here is why.

Drupal

Drupal is a very popular content management system that is currently growing in the industry. Drupal has its basic framework sourced on PHP and this makes it highly manageable and easy to use. Since it is has been developed using PHP it is also open source which enables you to customize the system to your preferences. Another plus point is that Drupal has several thousand 3 rd

party modules which make it easier to use. Drupal can be used for any product; website or company all you have to do is specify its uses. The easy-to-use deployment dashboard helps me and my team to deliver projects to client's validation and production environment much faster. The downside to Drupal is that you cannot upload non-Drupal based content on the cloud. This is highly irksome as you have to convert everything in Drupal to use it and store it. Another downside to Drupal is that the new upgraded version has a confusing interface. As of now, Drupal doesn’t have node.js support but it is likely to be developed in the near future.

Adobe CQ5

The best thing about Adobe CQ is that it is easy to use. Non-technical people can use Adobe CQ5 with ease and still manage to focus on the needs of the project rather than the technical difficulties. However, if you want to implement more customization and some technical content it becomes slightly difficult to figure out for both technical people and content creators. CQ is very helpful if you want to manage content on multiple sites simultaneously without having to individually configure each site and the pages for your content. Even if you have extensive media libraries like sounds, pictures and videos, CQ is seamless to use across these platforms. The Digital Asset Manager is very powerful and it can be of great help when you want to seamlessly integrate your media with your content. The downside to CQ5 is that it is an expensive option as opposed to other content management systems. The community that uses CQ5 is relatively small hence there are not a lot of reference people available. But with its gain in popularity and the rapid interest it generates it is sure to grow over the next couple of years.

In conclusion, Drupal is a good option if you are a single developer and know your way around the technical aspects of content management systems. But if you have some extra cash flow and you don’t have the technical know-how, then the Adobe CQ5 is a good option for you.
