    Ohio County Local Coordinating Committee

    Citizens for a Drug Free Community

    February 11, 2013

    Present: Brandon Bogue, Angie Disbro, Janie Eldridge, Amber Johnson, Gayla Kaibel, Tina

    Keller, Elissa Pogue, Deb Ranz, Laura Rolf, Caitlyn Sauerhage, Debbie Thomason, JohnMallery

    Minutes: Corrections needed: Tina Keller from Safe Passage has a provider # from theState of Indiana in which Law Enforcement can receive continuing credit. A motion wasmade by Janie Eldridge to approve January minutes with the corrections. Gayla Kaibelseconded the motion. Motion passed.

    Treasurers Report: Debbie Thomason reported $150 came in making a balance of theaccount $14,649.59. Elissa Pogue motioned we accept the Treasurers report. Tina Kellerseconded the motion. Motion passed.

    Youth Report: Caitlyn Sauerhage reported on several things going on at the schools:The police dogs searched two random classrooms at the school and came up with nothing.The Anti-Bullying workshop that was scheduled for February has been moved to April. Thehigh school will have a distracted driving coming soon. Middle/High School they areworking with Suzzi Romines about having a guest speaker.

    February: The 2nd grade will see the Kids on the Block program.

    April: The Middle/High School - Prosecutor Aaron Negangard will have a presentation aboutdrugs. The 4th grade will have the program Think Smart, Stay Safe.

    Old Business:

    The third sign LCC purchased for the ball field did not get put up this past year. It

    will be put up this year, so it will only cost $200 to keep the other signs up this

    year.

    Articles related to drugs or alcohol are still needed to be put in the paper.

    Risk Reduction

    Big Brothers Big Sisters had an article in the Recorder and mentioned the OhioCounty LCC.

    New Business:

    Lifestyle Risk Reduction will be held on April 26th from 9am 3:30pm. It will be

    presented by the ASAP Center at the Education of Rising Sun. Registration is

    required and lunch will be provided.

    Grant checks will be ready on Monday and will be mailed out. Picture of grantees

    will be taken today.

    Announcements:

    Amber Johnson announced the Prevent Child Abuse & Neglect Conferences

    coming up on March 9th in Scottsburg and April 27th in Lawrenceburg. The

    keynote speaker will be Brad Tassell Dont Feed the Bully

    Laura Rolf announced she is working on the Bowl for Kids. This will be held at

    Durbin Bowl on March 10th

    . They are recruiting for Teams and sponsorship.They are selling raffle tickets for a Kindle Fire. She also had an interview for a

    Big in Ohio County that would maybe like to start in May when she has more free

    time.

    Prom Committee will be meeting on 2/11/13 at 7pm at the Church of Christ if

    anyone wants to help stuff envelopes.

    Elissa Pogue announced ASAP partnered with someone to come up with a faith

    tool kit to help with faith based prevention work. They also have a Celebrating

    Families tool kit.

    John Mallory from CMHC announced a grant they are working with: SBIRT

    Screening Brief Intervention Referral To Treatment

    Adjournment: Brandon Bogue made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Gayla Kaibelseconded the motion. Motion passed.
