And apparently you can save lives with drones too. DJI, Zipline, Wingcopter and Swoop Aero have been doing it in Africa for some time now, with excellent levels of success. The issue about drone technology is, governments do not even have to build huge infrastructures for it to work - just friendly legislation and regulations for safe operations to prosper.

Spread the word – drones are about to become man's new best friend.

Just like any new technology, drones have brought with them teething challenges, not least of which is how authorities should manage air space in the drone age; at the conference, we will explore ways of dealing with such problems, and the legal channels that can promote a more peaceful existence between drones and larger aircraft in the air. There are also issues with data capture, protection, privacy and security. The Drones and Unmanned Aviation Conference is for technologies enthusiasts interested in exploring the challenges and opportunities presented by drones, and the best ways in which the law and technology can come together for the good cause of revolutionising industrial operations through disruptive innovation.

· To explore the latest developments in the use of drones in various industrial applications

· Municipal operations managers

Background

· Chief Executives

· To understand the airspace challenges and opportunities presented by drone and UAV technology in an economy

In its 2021 Technology and Innovation Report, UNCTAD said the drones and related frontier technologies – which include Drones, Big Data, 5G Network, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics — risk increasing inequality in the world by exacerbating and creating new digital divides between the technology haves and have-nots.

· To discuss the legal framework surrounding drone use and how it impacts operations

· Operations executives and managers

· To understand the latest technologies in UAV applications

· Mining operations managers· Warehouse managers

So; having proved the importance of emerging technologies, including drone technology - to almost every sector of the economy in the world, the next big question is; are developing countries in danger of seeing the inequality gap widen further because of their slow uptake of such new technologies?

A drone is not a toy. Well; not exactly. You can use it for serious commercial applications, like film making; security, which; and humanitarian activities like search and rescue in disaster situations.

The report wants governments to find ways to fully profit from the current technological revolution to reduce gaps that hold back inclusive and sustainable development in the world.

thWhat we will learn at the Drones and Unmanned Aviation Conference – set for its 2021 return on the 24 thand 25 of June 2021 at the Emperors Palace Convention Centre in Johannesburg – is the whole lot of

commercial opportunities drones have opened up in various industries. We will discuss the latest and emerging drone applications in industries that include health, insurance, agriculture, survey and mapping, policing and public safety, wildlife and environmental conservation, transportation; and many more industrial problems that drones have fixed.

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has warned against the potential of emerging technologies like drones creating a greater digital divide, alienating lower income countries – especially those in sub-Saharan Africa – further from wealthier nation states, if these countries do not invest in the new technologies that have shown tremendous potential for sustainable development.
