RAINY SEASON IS HERE – Simple Tips for Drivers

A simple weird sound in the engine might mean something more serious. Also check for the tires, the lights, the wipers, etc. If in doubt, you should have it checked and corrected before going on the road with it. Once you’re out there, it could be too late to stop and check.

1. Before you leave, make sure every part of

your vehicle is in perfect condition. It is your life and your passengers’ that is at

stake when you’re on the steering wheel. You have to pay attention to details with

your car.

Make sure you have enough fuel in your tank. Driving on a wet road can take much longer time than on a dry road.

Don’t leave without the basic tools and spare wheels. You might run over sharp objects carried by rain water on the road.

Drive slowly. When it rains. Brake loosen a little and road visibility is reduced. The only way to keep you safe is by

reducing your speed.

Avoid driving near large vehicles like buses and trucks. It also pays to be alert and to keep a little distance with other vehicles. It is important to have wider space from other vehicles because it

takes longer and harder to hold a break in wet weather.

Avoid driving on the side of the road. It is more advisable to move a little closer to the middle lane.

Always turn your on low-beam headlights, but not the high-beam. Use the high beam headlights only when absolutely necessary and safe. The light

may not help you see the way but it helps other drivers see you, thus keeping you safe. The high-beam on-the-other-hand won’t help improve the

visibility but it could bring you trouble by blinding other drivers.
