CIU-2DriverInstallation

Click "Extract all files".

Double click Zip file "CIV-2v2.06.00".

Click "Finish".

Check the extraction destination. (Same as CIU-2v2.06.00 Zip file storage location.)

Click "Next". Click "Next".

Downloaded Zip file extraction (decompression)ThedownloadeddriverfileCIU-2v2.06.00isaZipfile.Extract(decompress)thisfile.

(*ForWindows2000,separatedecompressionsoftwareisnecessary.)

*SavethedownloadedZipfileCIU-2.v2.06.00becauseitwillbeusedifthedrivermustbe

reinstalledforsomereason.

1.WithWindowsVista/XP,doubleclickfileCIU-2v2.06.00.

2.Click"Extractallfiles".TheExtractionWizardlaunches.

3.Extract(decompress)fileCIU-2.v2.06.00tothesamelocationastheZipfilesave

locationinaccordancewiththeextractionwizard’sinstructions.

Fifteen files are decompressed to this folder.

Connect the CIU-2 to the USB port of the PC.

Found New Hardware

1.At theendofextraction(decompression),a foldernamedCDM2.06.00 like that

shownbelowiscreated.

2.DoubleclicktheCDM2.06.00folder.Thecontentsofthefolderaredisplayed.

CIU-2 connection to PCConnectyourCIU-2totheUSBportofthePC.

1. TurnonthePCpowerandbootWindows.

2. Confirm thatallotherapplicationsareclosed.Closeallviruscheckandother

residentprograms,ifany.

3.ConnecttheCIU-2totheUSBportofthePC.

4. The"FoundNewHardwareWizard"windowshownbelowappearsonthescreen.

InstalltheCIU-2drivers.

Check "Install from a list or location (Advanced)".

Click "Next".

Check "Search for the best driver these locations." and "Include this location in the search:" and select the CDM 2.06.00 folder using the "Browse" button.

Click "Next".

2.Check"Searchforthebestdrivertheselocations."and"Includethislocationinthe

search:"andselecttheCDM2.06.00folderusingthe"Browse"buttonandthenclick

"Next".

Click "Continue Anyway".

Click "Finish".

4. Installationof theFT232RUSBUART

driverbegins.

5. During installation,aWindowsXPcompatibility

warningisdisplayed.Click"ContinueAnyway".

6.When"CompletingtheFoundNewHardwareWizard"appears,click"Finish".

When"Finish" isclicked, installationof theUSBSerialPortdriverbegins.Next,

installtheUSBSerialPortdriver.

Check "Install from a list or location (Advanced)".

Click "Next".

Click "Next".

Right click the icon"FT232R USB UART" and then click "Update Driver software...".

Driver installation (Using Windows 7 as an example)TurnonyourPCpowerandbootWindows7.WhenyourCIU-2isconnectedtothe

USBportonyourPC,"Installingdevicedriversoftware"appearsonthescreen.

However, the"Devicedriversoftwarewasnot

successfully installed"appearson thescreen

next. Therefore, install theCIU-2driversas

describedbelow.

1.ToopenWindowsDeviceManager.

FromWindowsdesktop, clickon the

"Start"button. Select "ControlPanel"

Click "Next".

2.06.00folderusingthe"Browse"buttonandthenclick"Next".

Right click the icon "USB Serial Port" and then click "Update Driver software...".

Click "Browse my computer for driver software".

8. Right click the icon "USB Serial

Port"and thenclick "UpdateDriver

software...".

Next, install the USB Serial Port driver.7.OpentheWindowsDeviceManager.

Select the CDM 2.06.00 folder using the "Browse" button.

Click "Next".

Click "Close".

10. Makesureacheckmark is in thebox for"Includessubfolders"andselect the

COM port confirmation and settingWhenthedriversareinstalledandtheCIU-2andWindowsPCcan

communicatewitheachother,theLEDontheCIU-2lightsgreen.

Next, touse theCIU-2andLinkprograms,COMportnumber

confirmation and setting byWindows Device Manager are

necessary.

1.OpentheWindowsDeviceManager.

Whenthere isaMyComputer icononthedesktop,rightclick the iconandthen

clickPropertiesinthedisplayedmenu.TheWindowsSystemPropertiesdialogbox

appears.Also, theWindowsSystemPropertiesdialogbox isalsodisplayedwhen

Windowdesktopbottom left "Start"button- "ControlPanel" - "Performanceand

Maintenance"-"System"isselected.

Click"Hardware"andthenclick"DeviceManager".TheWindowsDeviceManager

appears.

Double click Futaba USB Serial Port (COM#).

Double click Ports (COM&LPT).

Confirm COM #.

Click the "Port Settings" tab.

Bits per second: 9600

data bits: 8

parity: Odd

Stop bits: 1

Flow control: None

Click "OK".

Set each Port settings item as shown in the table above.

2.Doubleclick"Ports(COM&LPT)"ofDeviceManager.A listofports isdisplayed.

Confirm theCOMnumber. "#"ofFutabaUSBSerialPort (Com#) is theCOM

number. In theexampleshownbelow, theCOMnumber isCOM3.However, this

numberwilldifferdependingonthecomputersystemused.AlwayschecktheCOM

number,becausetheLinkprogramhasaCOMsetting.

Doubleclickthe"FutabaUSBSerialPort(COM#)"icon.

TheFutabaUSBSerialPort (COM#)propertiesare

displayed.Click thePortSettings tabandrefer to the

followingandset thecommunicationsparametersand

thenendbyclickingthe"OK"button.ClosetheDevice
