In July our branch directors, personnel department and counseling
department began to gently pressure our family into planning a vacation.
We knew we needed time away from our isolated location, but because of
our financial situation never believed it would actually happen. However,
we followed their promptings and investigated a few options, and ended
up greatly discouraged as traveling and lodging in Papua New Guinea is
costly and complicated. We asked a few close friends to pray for Gods
will, put this need on the back burner of our minds, and began planning
our return to the States for next summer instead.
During the last weekend of September, Sara was able to participate in a
ladies retreat here in Ukarumpa called She Is led by a group of fantastic
women from Australia. Following the retreat, Sara was made aware of a
She Is speaker who needed a house sitter for their home in Stanthrope,
west of Brisbane, Australia, for a month during December and January.
On a whim, and in retrospect by the prompting of the Holy Spirit,
Sara contacted Sue Peters. To make a long story short, we leave Ukarumpa on
December 20th and return on January 17th. The Peters family is opening their home
us at no charge and even allowing us to use their cars. God certainly provides even
before we know what we need! Just a few days ago, the doctors in Ukarumpa saw
Marty for recurring digestive issues. They are referring him to a specialist in Austra
So not only will our trip be for rest and rejuvenation but for a much needed medical
diagnosis for Marty. Praise the Lord for His miraculous provision!
We have stepped out in faith and are trusting in God to provide for this much neede
time away. Would you prayerfully consider giving towards our trip to Australia? Go
has provided free lodging and transportation for almost an entire month, but we still
need others to come beside us and help with medical expenses, travel, and food. We
believe in the only living God who performs miracles and are boldly asking Him for
this and enough funds to sight see and shop for the first time in 17 months certain
all more than we could ever ask or imagine!
For His glory alone,

Rainy season seems to have arrived! Gardens are
once again coming to life, rivers are no longer low
and our water tanks are full.
Mike and Beth Matheson, youth leaders from
JAARS, spent a full month in Ukarumpa. God
blessed our community abundantly through their
service here.
The Kamano Kafe New Testament revisions were
completed earlier this month, and work has begun
on an audio recording of the NT as well as a
hymnbook!
We are so blessed by the Peters familys gift of the
use of their home!
Miriam travels to Lae with the 7th and 8th grade
classes on October 24-26. Please pray for safety
and a wonderful experience.
Please pray for an increase in our monthly support.
Holiday time is quickly approaching. Please pray
for us and our families we are so far from.
