The Physikalisch- Technische Bundesanstalt, notified body No.01 02 in accordance with Article 9 of theCouncil Directive 94/9/EC of 23 March 1994, certifies that this equipment has been found to comply withthe Essential Health and Safety Requirements relating to the design and construction of equipment andprotective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, given in Annex II to the

Directive.

The examination and test results are recorded in the confidential report PTB Ex 02-12097.

Compliance with the Essential Health and Safety Requirements has been assured by compliance with:

If the sign "X" is placed after the certificate number, it indicates that the equipment is subject to specialconditions for safe use specified in the schedule to this certificate.

This EC-type-examination Certificate relates only to the design, examination and tests of the specifiedequipment in accordance to the Directive 94/9/EC. Further requirements of the Directive apply to themanufacturing process and supply of this equipment. These are not covered by this certificate.

DescriQtion of eauipment

The actuator, type D. Ex, consists of the following components

Housing accommodating a planetary gear. The planetary gear does not form part ofthis approval certificate.

Flange-mounted canned motor, which is designed to type of protection FlameproofEnclosure, types TM 1.003/P ; TM2.003/P or TM4.001/P, and which is made from analuminium alloy. The shaft rotates in anti-friction bearings. Together with the end shieldprovided at the drive end, the shaft forms the flameproof joint. Power supply is bymeans of separately certified cable entries.Optionally: separately certified motors, type of protection Flameproof Enclosure "d" orIncreased Safety "e".Switching and signalling compartment of type of protection Increased Safety, which iscast to the housing. The compartment may optionally be provided with a sight glassand may accommodate switching and signalling gear, an electronic measuringamplifier of type of protection Intrinsic Safety "i", as weil as terminals for intrinsicallysafe and non-intrinsically safe circuits. All fitted elements are covered by a separateapproval certificate.Optionally: electronic control system of type Matic C, accommodated in a housing oftype of protection Flameproof Enclosure.

Technical dataThe electric motor data as weil as the specifications for compliance with the temperatureclass are shown in the attached data sheet for the EC type-examination certificate.Ambient temperature rating -50 °C to + 60 °C

in connection with the electronic measuring amplifier: -20 °C to + 40 °C

in connection with Matic C control system: -30 °C to + 60 °C

The admissible ambient temperature range may be restricted by the components selectedor the data sheet for the electrical design.The composition of the protection symbol will be based on the types of protection ofcomponents actually used.

The motors may be employed on I y for the type of duty and under the ambient conditions for whichthey were type tested. This includes operation in connection with the frequency converter.
