Warnayarra the Rainbow Snake Story by Palma Lofts Told by Lunar Soegiyono This story is true. The story happened at the time when black people were forced to work for white people, as slaves. They worked in a big garden near the creek. Next to the Garden were 2 water tanks and a windmill. They worked hard under the hot sun. At one day people from the garden saw a storm with a big wind coming from the south. Inside that storm was something! The old man saw it from the creek! It was WILD! It was BIG! There was thunder and lightning. The trees were breaking and the ground was shaking on every side. Not to forget the thing in the storm was Warnayarra! THE RAINBOW SNAKE!! It smashed 1 tank and it also smashed the windmill... and cut’s its tail on the blades on the windmill. It broke all the trees and humpies. The creek filled up pretty soon flooded the garden. The people were frightened. After that the aborigines hid in their humpies. For 3 nights and days hiding from the rainbow snake. The rainbow snake traveled west. The wise old people in the west knew how to stop it. The End

This story is true. The story happened at the time when black people were forced to work for white people, as slaves. They worked in a big garden near the creek. Not to forget the thing in the storm was Warnayarra! THE RAINBOW SNAKE!! It smashed 1 tank and it also smashed the windmill... and cut’s its tail on the blades on the windmill. It broke all the trees and humpies. The creek filled up pretty soon flooded the garden.

The people were frightened. After that the aborigines hid in their humpies. For 3 nights and days hiding from the rainbow snake. The rainbow snake traveled west. The wise old people in the west knew how to stop it.
