Dreamtime Apocalypse
By Ben Khabib
I come from a land of dreamtimeWhere earth is red & hot
Where ancient spirits are presentWhere they lived & fought
I love my land, which I grew up onOn which I was taught & loved
The connection has now been brokenNo longer do I own the land
These people take our childrenAnd so we try to fight
But at the end they are winningAs our children disappear out of our sight
We do not have any rightsOur women are raped
Sometimes we have fightsChildren are born with no fate
Our life is nothing but devastationAs we try to survive among beasts
They want to make us a nationFederation is born, they are having a feast
They brought disease & troubleThey have made us follow their ways
Our life is now ruined in rubbleAs alcohol starts eating away
At first they distributed blankets one dayThat only brought us diseaseNow they are no longer botheredAs we are forsaken by those who made us this
way
My sister is a curiosity on her own landWhere beasts have now taken over
I don’t know where justice wentMaybe justice needs to get sober.
We own this country through bloodThat runs in our veins
I can see nothing but mud As I wake up in the sad world of today.
