Purpose: To experience the Silence within the core of our being through the mandala making process; to experience deep healing and transformation; and, to learn how to incorporate the mandala process into daily life as a tool for self inquiry, self- reflection, meditation, contemplation, healing, and transformation. What is Mandala? - “Mandala” is a Sanskrit word for “Circle,” meaning wholeness, unity, and oneness. For thousands of years, mandalas have been used as a sacred tool for meditation, healing, transformation, and communication with the Divine in several cultures around the world. Workshop Overview: During this workshop, we will create a sacred space for deep introspection by maintaining conversational silence throughout the weekend. While focusing our attention on the core of our being, we will examine and release emotional and mental patterns that no longer serve us through the mandala making and several other activities. Workshop Activities: Guided meditation, chanting, offering gratitude, mandala making, journaling, burning emotional and mental patterns that are causing suffering, chakra balancing, and more. Kaho Koinuma’s Biography: Mandala artist Kaho Koinuma draws directly from the heart. Her sacred mandalas are expressions of love filled with prayers for each and every being to awaken to his/her true nature. Many have found inner guidance and healing through meditating and contemplating her mandalas. Prior to 2006, Kaho had no experience in fine art, but with a sudden inspiration from a Japanese artist and support from the universe, the mandalas started to appear as answers to her heart’s calling. Her work has been the subject of several articles, including a feature article in Hado magazine in which Kaho was interviewed by Dr. Masaru Emoto, author of the best-selling books “The Hidden Messages in Water” and “The True Power of Water.” Since early 2007, Kaho has been exhibiting her mandalas and offering meditations, workshops and retreats in support of all beings to discover peace,

☆ 1 mechanical pencil☆ 1 ball point pen☆ 1 6“ or 12” ruler☆ 1 protractor☆ 1 compass (A good quality compass is recommend)☆ 1 White Sakura Gelly Roll pen☆ Colored gel pens - Y&C Gel Extreme Pastel set and metallic set. (These can be purchased through Blick Arts in Santa Monica.)

And/or Sakura Gelly Roll – Moonlight, Metallic, Stardust. (f choosing the Sakura pens, please choose 6 colors of the rainbow; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet.)

☆Colored pencils (optional) – You are welcome to bring colored pencils. If so, please include the above 6 colors of the rainbow.

*Black paper will be provided.

What to wear: Comfortable, loose clothing appropriate for light stretching and sitting for several hours. *Please be aware that you will be asked to remove your shoes, as this workshop will be held at a private residence.
