STANDARD NOTES GENERAL NOTES G1. THESE DRAWINGS SHALL BE READ IN CONJUNCTION WITH ALL ARCHITECTURAL AND OTHER CONSULTANTS DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND WITH SUCH OTHER WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS AS MAY BE ISSUED DURING THE COURSE OF THE CONTRACT. G2. ALL DIMENSIONS AND LEVELS RELEVANT TO SETTING OUT AND OFF-SITE WORK SHALL BE VERIFIED BY THE CONTRACTOR BEFORE CONSTRUCTION AND FABRICATION IS COMMENCED. THE ENGINEER'S DRAWINGS ARE NOT TO BE SCALED. NO RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE TAKEN BY THE ENGINEER FOR DIMENSIONS OBTAINED BY SCALING THE DRAWINGS. G3 UNLESS STATED OTHERWISE: ALL DIMENSIONS ARE IN MILLIMETRES ALL LEVELS ARE TO AUSTRALIAN HEIGHT DATUM. ALL CO-ORDINATES ARE TO AUSTRALIAN MAPPING GRID. G4. DURING CONSTRUCTION THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING THE STRUCTURE IN A STABLE CONDITION AND ENSURING NO PART SHALL BE OVERSTRESSED UNDER CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES. ALL TEMPORARY PROPPING AND BRACING NECESSARY, INCLUDING ANY TEMPORARY SUPPORT FOR EXCAVATIONS, SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY. G5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ENGAGE A QUALIFIED STRUCTURAL ENGINEER WHO IS A REGISTERED BUILDING PRACTITIONER WITH EXPERIENCE IN TEMPORARY WORKS TO DESIGN AND REVIEW ALL CONSTRUCTION PROCEDURES AND TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY WORKS DETAILS AS REQUIRED TO ENSURE THE STRUCTURE IS MAINTAINED IN A STABLE CONDITION AT ALL TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION. THE ENGINEER IS TO PROVIDE CERTIFIED COMPUTATIONS, CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE - DESIGN AND CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE - INSPECTION FOR THE SAME. THE COST OF ALL TEMPORARY WORKS AND TEMPORARY WORKS DESIGN SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE TENDERER'S PRICE. G6. THE STRUCTURE HAS BEEN DESIGNED FOR THE IN-SERVICE LOADS ACTING WHEN THE STRUCTURE IS COMPLETE ONLY. LOADS OR ACTIONS DUE TO CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION METHODOLOGIES AND/OR EQUIPMENT HAVE NOT BEEN CONSIDERED UNLESS CLEARLY STATED OTHERWISE. G7 THE APPROVAL OF A SUBSTITUTION SHALL BE SOUGHT FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT BUT IS NOT AN AUTHORISATION FOR A COST VARIATION. ALL COST VARIATIONS INVOLVED MUST BE AGREED WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT BEFORE THE WORK COMMENCES. G8 ANY DISCREPANCIES ON THE DRAWINGS, OR BETWEEN THE DRAWINGS AND/OR THE SPECIFICATIONS AND/OR THE SPECIFIED AUSTRALIAN STANDARDS SHALL BE REFERRED TO THE ENGINEER AND A WRITTEN INSTRUCTION RECEIVED BY THE SUPERINTENDENT PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK. G9 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DELIVERY, FABRICATION, CONSTRUCTION AND ERECTION OF ALL ELEMENTS OF THE STRUCTURE. G10 THE STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS DO NOT SHOW ALL DETAILS OF FIXTURES, INSERTS, SLEEVES, OPENINGS, ETC. REQUIRED BY THE VARIOUS TRADES. ALL SUCH DETAILS, INCLUDING OPENINGS FOR CONSTRUCTION PURPOSES, MUST BE APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH CONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALLOW FOR ADDITIONAL SUPPORT MEMBERS WHERE REQUIRED. G11 ANY DAMAGED STRUCTURAL MATERIAL SHALL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED TO THE ENGINEERS SATISFACTION ENSURING THE ORIGINAL DURABILITY STRENGTH AND SERVICEABILITY CHARACTERISTICS ARE MAINTAINED. G12 SHOULD ADDITIONAL SERVICES OR CHANGES TO THE STRUCTURAL DOCUMENTATION BE REQUESTED BY THE CONTRACTOR, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ASSOCIATED CONSULTANT FEES AND EXPENSES. G13 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALLOW FOR THE PREPARATION AND COST OF DETAILED SHOP DRAWINGS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CHECK AND COORDINATE THE SHOP DRAWINGS WITH ALL TRADES, OTHER CONSULTANT DOCUMENTS AND SITE CONDITIONS. G14 THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER DOES NOT PROVIDE "AS BUILT" DRAWINGS FOR THE STRUCTURE THAT REFLECT THE AS BUILT CONDITIONS AT THE COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION. SHOULD THE CONTRACTOR REQUEST ASSISTANCE FROM THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER FOR PRODUCTION OF "AS BUILT" DRAWINGS THEY SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ASSOCIATED CONSULTANT FEES AND EXPENSES. G15 ALL PROPS AND FORMWORK FOR FLOOR BEAMS AND SLABS SHALL BE REMOVED BEFORE CONSTRUCTION OF ANY MASONRY WALLS OR PARTITIONS ON THE FLOOR. G16 ALL NON LOAD-BEARING WALLS SHALL BE KEPT 20mm CLEAR OF THE UNDERSIDE OF SLABS AND BEAMS UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. THE TOP END OF ALL NON LOAD-BEARING WALLS ARE TO BE ADEQUATELY LATERALLY RESTRAINED. G17 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ENGAGE A GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER FOR THE PURPOSE OF CERTIFYING THE REQUIRED GROUND CONDITIONS AS NOMINATED IN THE DOCUMENTS. G18 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ENGAGE AN INDEPENDENT WELDING INSPECTION AND SITE SUPERVISION SERVICE TO CARRY OUT ALL STEELWORK TESTING AND EXAMINATIONS REQUIRED BY AUSTRALIAN STANDARDS. MINIMUM STEEL EXAMINATIONS REQUIRED BY THIS CONTRACT ARE : - 100% VISUAL WELD INSPECTION - 100% RADIOGRAPHIC OR ULTRASONIC WELD INSPECTIONS - 100% BOLT TIGHTENING INSPECTION AFTER ERECTION G19 PRIOR TO COMMENCING SITE WORKS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONFIRM AND LOCATE ALL EXISTING STRUCTURES, SERVICES AND OTHER ASSETS THAT MAY BE AFFECTED BY THE WORKS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SEEK DIRECTION FROM THE ENGINEER SHOULD ANY EXISTING STRUCTURES, SERVICES OR ASSETS BE DIFFERENT TO THOSE SHOWN ON THE CONSULTANTS DOCUMENTS. G20 SHOULD THE BUILDER/CONTRACTOR REQUIRE CREO CONSULTANTS TO PARTICIPATE IN AN ONLINE CENTRALISED DATA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (IE. ACONEX, PROJECTWEB OR PROJECT CENTRE OR SIMILAR), THE BUILDER/CONTRACTOR SHALL ALLOW TO PAY ALL ASSOCIATED PARTICIPATION FEES REQUIRED BY THE SERVICE OPERATOR IN THEIR TENDER PRICE. THE BUILDER/CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY CREO CONSULTANTS IN WRITING OF THIS REQUIREMENT DURING TENDERING OF THE PROJECT. WITHIN THREE (3) MONTHS OF PRACTICAL COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT, THE BUILDER/CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH FREE OF CHARGE TO CREO CONSULTANTS A COMPLETE RECORD OF ALL DATA THAT CREO CONSULTANTS WERE ABLE TO ACCESS ON THE SYSTEM DURING THE PROJECT. SI3 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL GIVE A MINIMUM OF TWO (2) WORKING DAYS NOTICE PRIOR TO INSPECTIONS BEING REQUIRED. SCHEDULED INSPECTIONS SHOULD BE CANCELLED A MINIMUM OF FOUR (4) WORKING HOURS PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED TIME IF WORK WILL NOT BE READY FOR INSPECTION. IF AN AREA OF WORK IS NOT COMPLETED AT THE SCHEDULED TIME OF INSPECTION, OR IS DEFECTIVE AND REQUIRES RE-INSPECTION, THE RE-INSPECTION SHALL BE AT THE CONTRACTORS EXPENSE. SI4 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALLOW IN THEIR PROGRAMME A MINIMUM PERIOD OF TEN (10) WORKING DAYS FROM RECEIPT OF SHOP DRAWINGS BY THE ENGINEER TO REVIEW AND RETURN COMMENTS. G5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ENGAGE A QUALIFIED STRUCTURAL ENGINEER WHO IS A REGISTERED BUILDING PRACTITIONER WITH EXPERIENCE IN TEMPORARY WORKS TO DESIGN AND REVIEW ALL CONSTRUCTION PROCEDURES AND TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY WORKS DETAILS AS REQUIRED TO ENSURE THE STRUCTURE IS MAINTAINED IN A STABLE CONDITION AT ALL TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION. THE ENGINEER IS TO PROVIDE CERTIFIED COMPUTATIONS, CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE - DESIGN AND CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE - INSPECTION FOR THE SAME. THE COSTOF ALL TEMPORARY WORKS AND TEMPORARY WORKS DESIGN SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE TENDERER'S PRICE.

G6. THE STRUCTURE HAS BEEN DESIGNED FOR THE IN-SERVICE LOADS ACTING WHEN THE STRUCTUREIS COMPLETE ONLY. LOADS OR ACTIONS DUE TO CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATIONMETHODOLOGIES AND/OR EQUIPMENT HAVE NOT BEEN CONSIDERED UNLESS CLEARLY STATEDOTHERWISE.

G7 THE APPROVAL OF A SUBSTITUTION SHALL BE SOUGHT FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT BUT IS NOT ANAUTHORISATION FOR A COST VARIATION. ALL COST VARIATIONS INVOLVED MUST BE AGREED WITHTHE SUPERINTENDENT BEFORE THE WORK COMMENCES.

G8 ANY DISCREPANCIES ON THE DRAWINGS, OR BETWEEN THE DRAWINGS AND/OR THE SPECIFICATIONS AND/OR THE SPECIFIED AUSTRALIAN STANDARDS SHALL BE REFERRED TO THE ENGINEER AND A WRITTEN INSTRUCTION RECEIVED BY THE SUPERINTENDENT PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK.

G9 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DELIVERY, FABRICATION, CONSTRUCTION ANDERECTION OF ALL ELEMENTS OF THE STRUCTURE.

G10 THE STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS DO NOT SHOW ALL DETAILS OF FIXTURES, INSERTS, SLEEVES,OPENINGS, ETC. REQUIRED BY THE VARIOUS TRADES. ALL SUCH DETAILS, INCLUDING OPENINGSFOR CONSTRUCTION PURPOSES, MUST BE APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER BEFORE PROCEEDINGWITH CONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALLOW FOR ADDITIONAL SUPPORT MEMBERSWHERE REQUIRED.

G11 ANY DAMAGED STRUCTURAL MATERIAL SHALL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED TO THE ENGINEERSSATISFACTION ENSURING THE ORIGINAL DURABILITY STRENGTH AND SERVICEABILITYCHARACTERISTICS ARE MAINTAINED.

G12 SHOULD ADDITIONAL SERVICES OR CHANGES TO THE STRUCTURAL DOCUMENTATION BEREQUESTED BY THE CONTRACTOR, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALLASSOCIATED CONSULTANT FEES AND EXPENSES.

G13 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALLOW FOR THE PREPARATION AND COST OF DETAILED SHOP DRAWINGS.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CHECK AND COORDINATE THE SHOP DRAWINGS WITH ALL TRADES, OTHERCONSULTANT DOCUMENTS AND SITE CONDITIONS.

G14 THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER DOES NOT PROVIDE "AS BUILT" DRAWINGS FOR THE STRUCTURE THATREFLECT THE AS BUILT CONDITIONS AT THE COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION. SHOULD THECONTRACTOR REQUEST ASSISTANCE FROM THE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER FOR PRODUCTION OF "ASBUILT" DRAWINGS THEY SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ASSOCIATED CONSULTANT FEES ANDEXPENSES.

G15 ALL PROPS AND FORMWORK FOR FLOOR BEAMS AND SLABS SHALL BE REMOVED BEFORE CONSTRUCTION OF ANY MASONRY WALLS OR PARTITIONS ON THE FLOOR.

G16 ALL NON LOAD-BEARING WALLS SHALL BE KEPT 20mm CLEAR OF THE UNDERSIDE OF SLABS AND BEAMS UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. THE TOP END OF ALL NON LOAD-BEARING WALLS ARE TO BE ADEQUATELY LATERALLY RESTRAINED.

G17 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ENGAGE A GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER FOR THE PURPOSE OF CERTIFYINGTHE REQUIRED GROUND CONDITIONS AS NOMINATED IN THE DOCUMENTS.

G18 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ENGAGE AN INDEPENDENT WELDING INSPECTION AND SITE SUPERVISIONSERVICE TO CARRY OUT ALL STEELWORK TESTING AND EXAMINATIONS REQUIRED BY AUSTRALIANSTANDARDS. MINIMUM STEELEXAMINATIONS REQUIRED BY THIS CONTRACT ARE :

- 100% VISUAL WELD INSPECTION- 100% RADIOGRAPHIC OR ULTRASONIC WELD INSPECTIONS- 100% BOLT TIGHTENING INSPECTION AFTER ERECTION

G19 PRIOR TO COMMENCING SITE WORKS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONFIRM AND LOCATE ALLEXISTING STRUCTURES, SERVICES AND OTHER ASSETS THAT MAY BE AFFECTED BY THE WORKS.THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SEEK DIRECTION FROM THE ENGINEER SHOULD ANY EXISTINGSTRUCTURES, SERVICES OR ASSETS BE DIFFERENT TO THOSE SHOWN ON THE CONSULTANTSDOCUMENTS.

G20 SHOULD THE BUILDER/CONTRACTOR REQUIRE CREO CONSULTANTS TO PARTICIPATE IN AN ONLINECENTRALISED DATA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (IE. ACONEX, PROJECTWEB OR PROJECT CENTRE OR SIMILAR), THE BUILDER/CONTRACTOR SHALL ALLOW TO PAY ALL ASSOCIATED PARTICIPATION FEESREQUIRED BY THE SERVICE OPERATOR IN THEIR TENDER PRICE. THE BUILDER/CONTRACTOR SHALLNOTIFY CREO CONSULTANTS IN WRITING OF THIS REQUIREMENT DURING TENDERING OF THE PROJECT.

WITHIN THREE (3) MONTHS OF PRACTICAL COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT, THE BUILDER/CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH FREE OF CHARGE TO CREO CONSULTANTS A COMPLETE RECORD OF ALL DATA THAT CREO CONSULTANTS WERE ABLE TO ACCESS ON THE SYSTEM DURINGTHE PROJECT. SUCH DATA SHALL BE PROVIDED IN A COMMON READABLE AND SEARCHABLE FORMATAND BE RECORDED ON A CD, DVD, PORTABLE USB DRIVE OR SIMILAR MEDIA.

SITE SUPERVISION AND INSPECTION NOTES

SI1 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ENSURE A SUITABLY QUALIFIED, REGISTERED BUILDING PRACTITIONERCARRIES OUT ALL REQUIRED INSPECTIONS, AS SPECIFIED BY THE BUILDING SURVEYOR, TO ENABLETHE BUILDING SURVEYOR TO PROVIDE A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE - CONSTRUCTION AT THECONCLUSION OF THE WORKS.

SI2 CREO CONSULTANTS HAVE ALLOWED FOR STRUCTURAL INSPECTIONS TO SATISFY OURPROFESSIONAL OBLIGATIONS IN ASSISTING THE CONTRACTOR TO FOLLOW THE DESIGN INTENT OFOUR DOCUMENTS BUT NOT NECESSARILY TO INSPECT ALL ELEMENTS.

SI3 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL GIVE A MINIMUM OF TWO (2) WORKING DAYS NOTICE PRIOR TOINSPECTIONS BEING REQUIRED. SCHEDULED INSPECTIONS SHOULD BE CANCELLED A MINIMUM OFFOUR (4) WORKING HOURS PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED TIME IF WORK WILL NOT BE READY FORINSPECTION.
