Supercomputing 2004

• Three DRAGON experiments/demonstrations– Realtime e-VLBI

o Realtime, between Westford and GGAO, using real instruments

o Fallback to RT using stored datao With conventional IP access (cross traffic), ando With DRAGON light paths

– VLSRo Demo DRAGON VLSR’s capability to manage ethernet

switches and o interface with production GMPLS stacks on commercial

products– NARB

o Demo multi-domain automated provisioning.o All photonic wavelength inter-domain signaling and

routing

Supercomputing 2004

• Venue at Pittsburgh Convention Center– We will be homed in the XNET booth, Booth #1147– We will have:

o IP connectivity to SCInet (Abilene, commodity, etc)o Dark Fiber link(s) to SCInet NOC

3 pair single mode, SC connectorized 1 pair multi mode, SC connectorized

o Two racks of VLSR nodes (6), power, etc. Note: We will be sharing this rack space with other XNET

demos (CHEETAH, …)

• Wide Area Networking– Still trying to get Level3 to front fiber from DCGW to Level3

MCLN (NLR)– Sharing of OC192 with ATDnet via DCNE – engineering not

cooperating.– Will most likely apply year 2 Movaz equipment for SC04

DRAGON Demonstrations

• E-VLBI– HSTK, GGAO over IP (with crosstraffic)– HSTK, GGAO over DRAGON

• Virtual Label Switched Routers– Demonstrates open source GMPLS protocol stacks– Dynamic provisioning of p2p ethernet light paths

• Inter-Domain NARB path provisioning– Multi-domain path computation– Optically transparent inter-domain routing/signaling

• HD-CVAN– SMPTE-292 from Wash DC over light path(s)

o If WDC link not available, then we’ll do something in the booth

– Or Ultra Grid over 1ge in Xnet –o In booth, and hopefully over WAN
