I originally created this gradient affect so that I could combine four different coloured gradients together and place different images of my artist posing in them. I felt that this best reflected the POP genre category. But however due to me and my partner disagreeing on how the digipack should look, we decided against this gradient idea.

Potential Digipack idea

In this image I have used the dog school to give her an air brushed shiny affect. This is to portray my artist as having perfect skin. I have also used the doge tool to also highlight the brown in my artists hair to make her look very glamorous.

In this image I used a Photoshop tool. I went on image adjustment then to the black and white tab. This gave a desaturated affect and made my colour image turn into a black and white picture. I used the previous edited picture (to the left) to keep the shiny affect. I used the erase tool to get rid of any spots.

Why I did not use this digipack template: I decided to not to use these images as I felt that I could not get the air brush affect to its full effect. The black and white image I felt did not truly represent the POP genre as it was not very colourful which is what I found most print tasks had in real media texts.

How I created my draft magazine advert

Step 1

I used my previous edited image as my image to use for my magazine advert.

Step 2

I took a screen grab from my cloud time scape in my music video. This is so that my music video and my print task interrelate with one another. I realised in my research that this was a frequent aspect seen in POP music videos and print tasks.

Step 3

First I cropped out the picture from the original layer. The I placed the cloud layer underneath the layer of my artist image. I used the eraser tool to get rid of the curtain image and to show the cloud image behind the artist layer.

Then I used various affects such as ‘drop shadow’ to give the affect that my artist is actually in the location that I situated her in front of.

Step 4Step 5

I then experimented with various texts and famous media labels and formatted the layout to look like a magazine advert.

Why I did not use this magazine advert: I did not use this magazine advert because I felt that it was too dark and did not meet my POP genre accurately as the colours are usually very bright in most magazine adverts.
