MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

ACADEMIC POSITIONS (TTS)

PROFESSOR (TTS)

a. Qualification: Ph.D from a HEC recognized University / Institution in the relevant field.

b. Experience: 11-years Post-PhD or minimum of 7-years of post-PhD experience along with at least 12 years of experience prior to the PhD (The experience to be counted is to be of teaching/research in a recognized University or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International Organization).

c. Successfully supervised one Ph.D or 10 M.Phil theses as supervisor or have one post-doc experience of six months duration from a foreign University / Institute.

d. Publications: 15 research publications (with at least 5 publications in the past 5 years) in Journals

recognized for the purpose of appointment on Tenure Track by the Higher Education Commission, i.e. research papers published in Journals that fall under the category W, X and Y.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (TTS)

a. Qualification: Ph.D from a HEC recognized University / Institution in the relevant field.

b. Experience: 6-years Post-PhD or minimum of 4-years of post-PhD experience along with at least 6 years of experience prior to the PhD (The experience to be counted is to be of teaching/research in a recognized University or a postgraduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International Organization)

c. Minimum of six months continuous postdoctoral research experience from foreign University/Institute in the relevant field or successful supervision (as supervisor) of one Ph.D. thesis or six M.Phil theses, or three M.Phil plus six M.Sc. theses where M.Sc. thesis is compulsory and carries a minimum of nine credit hours.

d. Publications: 10 research publications (with at least 4 publications in the past 5 years) in Journals recognized for the purpose of appointment on Tenure Track by the Higher Education Commission, i.e. research papers published in Journals that fall under the category W, X and Y.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (TTS)

a. Qualification: Ph.D from a HEC recognized University / Institution in the relevant field.

For Assistant Professor having Ph.D degree from Pakistan the Registrar must certify that the Ph.D thesis was evaluated by two foreign Experts as per HEC guidelines for award of Ph.D degree, in case foreign evaluation was not done then the candidates must provide evidence of two publications in Journals recognized by the HEC.

b. Excellent written and communication skills to be judged through the Institute Selection process by a written test / seminar.

PROFESSOR (BS-21)

a. Qualification: Ph.D from HEC recognized University / Institution in the relevant field.

b. Experience: Fifteen years teaching / research experience in HEC recognized university or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International Organization.

OR

Ten years post Ph.D teaching / research experience in a HEC recognized University or a Post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International Organization.

c. Publications: Fifteen research publications with (at least five publications in the last five years) in HEC recognized journals.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (BS-20)

a. Qualification: Ph.D from HEC recognized University / Institution in the relevant field.

b. Experience: Ten years teaching / research experience in HEC recognized University or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International Organization.

OR

Five years Post Ph.D teaching / research experience in an HEC recognized University or a Post graduate Institution or Professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International Organization.

c. Publications: Ten research publications with (at least four publications in last five years) in HEC recognized journals.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (BS-19)

Qualification: Ph.D in the relevant field from HEC recognized University / Institution with NO Experience required. OR Master degree (foreign) or M.Phil (Pakistan) or equivalent degree awarded after 18 years of education as determined by the HEC in the relevant field from an HEC recognized University / Institution, with 4 years teaching / research experience in a HEC recognized university or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in National or International Organization.

RESEARCH FELLOW / ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (BS-19 Contract Post)

Qualification: Ph.D in the relevant field from HEC recognized University/Institution with NO Experience required

OR

Master degree (foreign) or M.Phil (Pakistan) or equivalent degree awarded after 18 years of education as determined by the HEC in the relevant field from an HEC recognized University / Institution, with 4 years teaching / research experience in a recognized university or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in National or International Organization.

CONDITIONS

1. The applicants should prepare a comprehensive application dossier that may include letters of references from his/her Ph.D supervisor as well as others from eminent researchers in his/her area of specialization and all publications in refereed journals recognized by the HEC. Application forms (BPS / TTS) are available at the Institute’s website www.nip.edu.pk and the same can also be obtained from NIP Director Office. 2. The candidates applying under both systems (BPS / TTS) should submit separate applications along-with complete documents together with required Pay Order, Bank Draft or paid Challan for each application.

3. Applicants for the posts of Professor and Assistant Professor are required to submit: Four copies of the applications / dossiers duly bind along-with a soft copy of dossier in PDF form while applicants for other teaching posts are required to submit two copies of applications/dossiers on the prescribed form along-with attested documents as mentioned in Check List.

4. Applications should reach the Director NIP along with a pay order, Bank Draft or paid Challan (only Askari Bank, QAU branch, Account Title: NIP Recurring, Account No: 01500390004370) for Rs. 2000/- (non refundable) drawn in favor of Director NIP, Quaid-i-Azam University latest by the 19th May, 2015. 5. Applications for teaching posts from abroad may be sent along-with US $100 as application fee by 29th May, 2015.

6. Applicants working in Government or Semi-Government Organization or Autonomous Bodies should apply through proper channel. However, the Centre may entertain advance copies.

7. The applicants for the post of Research Associates cum Lecturer and for the post of Assistant Professor

and Research Fellow cum Assistant Professor who do not possess Ph.D. degree will be required to appear in a written test and in addition, they will deliver a lecture. The candidates for Assistant Professor holding Ph.D. degree will deliver a lecture only. After short listing, the candidates will be interviewed by the Selection Board for final selection. No. TA/DA will be admissible for interview. 8. The selected candidates will be governed by the Centre of Excellence, Quaid-i-Azam University, Service Statutes and rules/regulations amended from time to time.

9. Applications that are incomplete or received after due date will not be entertained. 10. The Institute reserves the rights not to fill any post/withhold the appointment against any advertised post

or to accept/reject any application without assigning any reason. 11. The decision of the Institute shall remain binding in all cases.
