INDOOR WALKWAY GUIDE

Downtown Winnipeg’s two kilometres of indoor walkways get you from The Bay to Portage & Main and beyond without stepping foot outside!

A favourite for mall-walkers, the year-round climate-controlled walkway system connects you to over 200 shops and amenities. Stay warm and dry as you visit the YMCA-YWCA, IMAX Theatre, the MTS Centre, Millennium Library, the Winnipeg Convention Centre, three shopping centres and over 80 restaurants. Access is easy from 3,733 parking stalls, numerous buildings or nearby bus stops. You can also park for the day and travel to other downtown destinations aboard the free Downtown Spirit shuttle bus.

WALKWAY HOURS: MONDAY to SUNDAY | 7am - 12:30am (Certain buildings have different hours)

This guide helps you navigate through the skywalks and lower levels of downtown Winnipeg’s entire connected walkway system. Every page features a section view of the walkway, showing the entrances, elevators and parking in each building. Check out the top left corner to see the building’s amenities. Refer to the colour-coded buildings and page numbers on the main map (left) to find the section you’re looking for.

When you’re out and about downtown, watch for the “W” to show you how to access the system. Signage throughout the walkway will also help guide you. The City of Winnipeg coined the term “The W” as short-form for the weather protected walkway system, simplifying signage and usability.
