RE: Downtown Divas Go Red for Women’s Heart Health Month
To Fellow Ladies:
The Downtown Camden Guild (DCG) will be hosting the first annual Downtown Divas Go Red event on January 29, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Ladies of Camden, Kershaw County, and surrounding areas are encouraged to participate. This event is being held not only to bring awareness to women’s heart health, but also to spotlight Happy Memories Fudge& More a new female-owned business in downtown Camden, as well as other businesses throughout downtown Camden. We are asking for your participation in this event by wearing something red and joining us for an evening with “just the girls.”
The kickoff location for the event is the Old Armory Steak House located on Rutledge Street. Join us there for live music and refreshments. Tour participating businesses downtown during the course of the evening for the chance to win several different prizes and gather information that will help you increase your heart health. Parking will be available behind 1011 Galleria (the designated event parking area), as well as the East Back Lot. Extra security will also be on hand to ensure a safe evening for all.
KershawHealth will be on site for free blood pressure screenings and body mass checks. In addition a nutritionist will be on site to provide information and advice. We will have t- shirts and tote bags available for a $15.00 donation. The proceeds will go to the American Heart Association (AHA). Also, throughout the month of January and February, red hearts will be available at businesses throughout Camden for a $1.00 donation to benefit the AHA . This is just a small way in which the community can show support for heart health awareness.
