Downloading the SPSS datasets • Make sure that you have installed SPSS on your computer

before you download the data, or you will not be able to open the files.

• You will need these datasets to: – Practice the commands and statistics described in the textbook – Complete your homework assignments for your SPSS project – Complete your exams.

• The instructions below show you how to download the GSS2010.SAV dataset, which you will need for your SPSS project.

• Repeat steps 4 to 6 for the Adventures.SAV and Sample.SAV datasets, selecting Exer instead of Demo in step 5.

• WARNING: You may go through a slightly different sequence if you are not using a different version of Windows and a different browser than those displayed in this tutorial (Windows XP and Explorer 8)

Step 1

• Go to the following URL in your browser:

Step 3: Go to “General Resources”

Step 4: Go to GSS2010

Step 5: Save the file

Step 6: Choose your folder and file name
