Once you have found a Magazine that you

want to download, tap or click the link to

Send to NOOK App.

A pop-up window will open, explaining what

happens when you send a magazine to the NOOK

App. Select Accept to Continue.

Note: Check Don’t show this message again if

you don’t want to see this message every time

you get a magazine from the library.

The first time you send a magazine to your NOOK

account, you’ll be taken to a Barnes & Noble

page to sign into your NOOK account. If you

don’t already have an account, you will be

prompted to register one.

After you have signed into your NOOK account,

select Grant Access. This is a one-time step that

allows the magazines in your library account to be

sent to your NOOK account.

Note: None of the personal information in your

NOOK account is shared with Overdrive or the

library.

Your magazine is now sent to your NOOK

account. On the Overdrive website, you will

be taken to your Periodical History page,

where you can see a complete list of the

magazines you have successfully sent to your

NOOK. To read your magazine, switch over

to your NOOK reading app or NOOK tablet.

Magazines that you send to your NOOK will

stay in your account forever unless you

manually remove them.

You do not need to worry about returning

your magazines, you will never be charged

late fees for them.

If you get an error when you try to send a

magazine to your NOOK account, you can

find the magazine waiting in your Overdrive

Account on the Loans. From here, you can

re-send the magazine to your NOOK App to

try again. **This option will only be

available for a limited time period, usually 7

days after the initial download**

To use the Overdrive Magazines &

Newspapers, you will need a NOOK (Barnes &

Noble) Account. Chances are if you have a

NOOK device, you already have your NOOK

registered with a B&N account.

If you have a different device (see compatible

devices on the previous page), you will need to

download the NOOK App from your app store.

If you already have a Barnes & Noble Account,

you can login to the app with that account. If

you don’t, you can create one from the App.

NOTE: Some devices may not have the option

to create an account in the NOOK APP. If your

device does not give you that option, please go

to http://www.barnesandnoble.com/ and

create an account there. Then go back to the

App and sign in with your account

None of the personal information in your

NOOK account is shared with Overdrive or the

library.

How long can I keep the magazines for?

Once you download the magazine or newspaper

to your NOOK Account, it will stay in your account

until you manually remove it. There are no due

dates or overdue fees for Overdrive Titles.

I sent a magazine to my NOOK, but it does not

display on my device.

It could be the download was not successful. Log

into your Overdrive account and go to your

Loans page. You should be able to re-send the

magazine to your device.

Can I place holds on a Magazine or Newspaper?

No, these formats are not holdable. If an issue is

not available to download, check back in a couple

days to see if the next issue is available.

Can I read magazines and newspapers on my

computer?

Only if you have a Windows 8 or Windows 10

Computer. You must download the NOOK App

from the Windows Store in order to read

Magazines.
