ThankyouforyourinterestinservingourcommunitythroughtheJacksonvilleSheriff’sOffice.YoursuccessorfailureattheAcademydependsonyou.Sostartpreparingnow.OurlargestpercentageofdropoutscomesfrompoororlackofphysicalfitnesstrainingbeforetheAcademy.Wehitthegroundrunningfromdayoneanditisincumbentuponyoutotakeresponsibilityforyourownphysicalfitnessnow.AttheAcademywefollowthe“CrossFit”modelofphysicalexercisethatfocussesoncorestrengtheningandcircuittrainingtoincreasestaminaandstrength.Emphasisonstamina!Simplyliftingweightsandspeedwalkingwillnotproperlyprepareyou.OnthefollowingpagesaremanyofthecoreexercisesthatyouwillencounterwhileattheAcademy.Thenumbersofrepsandtimeslistedarenotsetrequirements.TheycanfluctuatedramaticallywhileattheAcademy.ThesearejustsuggestionssothatyoucansetgoalsforyourselfbeforetheAcademy.
