Traditionally, Boxing Day was the day:-servants would receive gifts in boxes
from their landownwers or employers.-the collecting boxes in churches were
opened & the contents distributed to the poor.
-boys used to go round collecting money in clay boxes. When the boxes were full, they broke them open.

Today, Boxing Day is better known as a bank or public holiday. , Boxing Day in many places is moved to 27 December.
