[NC 7] THIRD PARTY ROLLING STOCK
7.1 PURPOSE
All locomotives, carriages and wagons listed in this section are authorised to operate on the Melbourne metropolitan trains network.
Any vehicle not listed in this section is not permitted to operate on Melbourne metropolitan trains network without being authorised by the appropriate Metro circular.
This document does not cover TV1, TV2 and TV3 Track Vehicles which shall comply with the requirements set out within L1-CHE-PRO-033 - Track Vehicle Registration Process and approval to operate recorded in on-line software tool called PlantGUARD (https://plantguard.tech).
7.2 SCOPE
The WTT Network Configuration documents are applicable to Metro trains operator, V/Line trains operator, Public Transport Victoria, Third Party organisations and contractors that use the Melbourne metropolitan trains network as defined under the Melbourne Metropolitan Train Franchise agreement.
7.3 RESPONSIBILITY
Refer to L1-CHE-MAN-010 Table 1 - Responsibility Matrix for WTT Network Configuration for the department representative responsible for third party rolling stock.
7.4 DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT
WTT Network Configuration – Third Party Rolling Stock is one of the eight documents forming the WTT Network Configuration document suite as highlighted below.

For Pacific National, this letter denotes the difference of vehicles within a particular group. In general, these will be listed alphabetical to show that there is a difference between particular vehicles in a class. Exceptions to this rule will be in the case of special purpose vehicles where the letter indicates the products carried.
