• AFP Disaster Response Task Force (DRTF) is organize into Disaster Response Task Group (DRTG):– NOLCOM is DRTG for Northern & Central
Luzon– SOLCOM is DRTG for Southern Tagalog &
Bicol Region– WESCOM is DRTG for Palawan– VISCOM is DRTG for Visayas– SOUTHCOM is DRTG for Mindanao– CRSAFP is DRTG for Metro Manila
BACKGROUND
• AFP’s response to approaching natural calamities:– concerned DRTG’s are directed to alert their
Disaster Relief and Response Units (DRRU) to provide assistance to Local Disaster Coordinating Councils (LDCCs)

JTF BAYANIHAN
• JTF BAYANIHAN is activated to provide general support to Visayas and Mindanao DRTGs– BG SANTIAGO, CG, 2ID, PA is designated JTF
Commander
AFP Mission
• The Armed Forces of the Philippines assists the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) in the conduct of large scale humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) in all areas of the country affected by Super Typhoons JOHN and JULIE and the eruption of CANLAON Volcano in order to save lives, protect properties and minimize damages.
Concept
• AFP through the AFPDRTF continue provide assistance to NDCC
• JTF BAYANIHAN is organized to provide command and control of AFP and multinational forces that will provide general support to VISAYAS and MINDANAO DRTGs in the conduct of HADR
Endstate
• All human activities disrupted by the effects of Super Typhoons JOHN and JULIE and the eruption of MOUNT CANLAON shall have been stabilized.
CSAFP’s Intent
• I intend to provide all available assistance to the national disaster response efforts necessary to alleviate human sufferings and restore normalcy in all human activities disrupted by the effects of Super Typhoons JOHN and JULIE and the eruption of MOUNT CANLAON.
Planning Guidance
• Deploy forces rapidly into the affected areas, quickly establish Command and Control capability to facilitate the deployment of committed forces;
• Assist the NDCC in humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts in all affected areas.
