Coronavirus Update

Staff Car Park: Do Not Drop Off or Pick Up in This Area
Please note that the staff car park is for staff only. The majority of our parents are very respectful of this rule and do not use the car
park. Many parents and children walk through this area to access the buildings. For children’s safety, we ask that you not drive in to
this area to drop off or pick up children or park in this area. Your support in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Process for Late Arrival or Early Departure: It’s a Safety Issue
If a student arrives late to school, or departs early (for a valid reason), they must be signed in or out by an approved adult at the
school office in the Sign In/Out book. Parents must NOT collect a child directly from the school yard or classroom. This is a
parental duty of care and child safety issue. A tear off slip from the Sign In/Out book must be provided to the class teacher for a
late arrival or early departure. Latecomers are NOT to go directly to their classroom. Your support with this process is
appreciated.
Please let us know if there’s anything further that we can do to support you here at WHPS.

PFG News Easter Raffle
The Easter raffle this year will be drawn at our final term assembly on Friday 20th March. Raffles books have been distributed this
week and will need to be returned by 4pm on Wednesday 18th March. You are welcome to take another book of tickets once your
first book and money has been returned to the office. As usual the raffle hampers will be big and full of Easter treats, and they will
be on display soon.
Open Air Cinema event
Fast approaching is our ‘Open Air Cinema’ to be held on Friday 20th March. The movie to be shown will be
‘Spies in Disguise’ and our colouring in competition will begin soon. Thank you to our major sponsor – The
Shed Guys Bendigo for again supporting this event.
Next Meeting and AGM
On Monday 2nd March the Parents & Friends Group will be holding their Annual General meeting. We cordially invite members of
our school community to attend this meeting. The meeting will be held at 9:00am in the staffroom. Parents can register their interest
for P&F office bearer positions by 4.00pm today at the office or the meeting. All parents of students at WHPS are eligible to become members of PFG at any time of the year. To be a voting member you need
to pay the annual fee of $2.00. If you would like to be able to vote at the AGM you need to pay the $2.00 fee before the AGM.
All newcomers are welcome to attend any meeting! You may bring along younger siblings to our meetings as well. Come and
have morning tea with us, a chat and a laugh, and find out what we do around the school.
Thank you from PFG members
Grade 4 News Bike Ed- Commences next Tuesday. Please have your child’s bike and helmet at school on Tuesday ready for the first session.
Students can place the bike in the bike shed before school for storage. First session is at 9am with the second commencing at 10am.
Wednesday’s session is at 9am. Any parents available to assist that would be appreciated, whether it’s on the road riding or helping
at school.
Please contact your classroom teacher if your child’s bike needs to stay at school, as the bike shed is not locked overnight.
