We’re switching things up!
It’s that time of year again….And
we’re so excited! After much
consideration we’ve decided to
switch our Ladybug and Dragon-
fly classrooms around. The newly
remodeled room will better ac-
commodate the preschool
kiddos. All changes will be done
before September 4th
.
Seeds would like to give
a HUGE SHOUT OUT
and THANK YOU to our
awesome board mem-
ber Eddie Abbott and
Brian for all of their hard
work with the classroom
remodel!
the magnatiles, linking cubes and geo-
metric blocks.
Our garden is
growing great!
We have enjoyed
helping take care
of it. Picking and
tasting the ap-
ples was a lot of
fun. We com-
pared the big and little ones and decid-
ed that the little apples are more sour.
This coming month we are excited to
start learning about all of our new
friends coming over from the Bumble-
bee classroom!
Summer flew by so fast! We were excit-
ed to hear about everyone’s summer
break and share what we did with each
other.
We pitched a tent and pretended to go
camping in dramatic play. Cooking hot
dogs and making s’mores in our camp
fire was fun. We also practiced pattern-
ing with s’mores while we were making
them. Outside we made a campout
and used our soft blocks to make a tent.
This month we
learned the letters F,
Q and X. We’re get-
ting really good at
tracing the letters in
sand.

While learning about traveling, we
learned about maps and how they help
people travel and get from place to place.
Miss Becca made us an obstacle course
and a large visual map that we had to use
to complete the course. The map showed
us that we had to take 5 steps, jump
through 3 hula hoops, crawl or jump over
the triangle, play hopscotch, and then run
through a set of cones. We had a blast
This month in the Ladybug class we learned about emergency community helpers and 911. We talked about what to do in an emergency and who to call in case of a fire, injuries, or illness. We also talked about how firefighters, police, paramedics, doctors, and nurses help us when we need it. Our dramatic play was turned into an emergency room and we pretended to be doctors, nurses, para-medics, and patients.
Over our summer break we had a few friends who traveled to other cities on an airplane or in their car. We talked about different ways to travel and took a poll of who has been on an airplane, train, boat, or car. Our teachers made us our own airport and security gate. We packed our bags, boarded our airplane and traveled to new, fun destinations.
cheering each other on as everyone com-
pleted the obstacle course.

August has been an exciting, fun filled month. We are getting lots of new friends in the Butterfly Classroom! We have real-ly enjoyed Miss Maggie reading to us eve-ry Friday morning.
During recess we have been practicing kicking, throwing, catching, and hop-scotch. BTW, please don’t forget to take our swim clothes home, if you haven’t already!
Some of the things in the classroom we have been learning about are families and how to be a good broth-er or sister, and even to our family pets! We had a daycare center in our
Dramatic Play where we pre-tended to be mommies, daddies, brothers and sisters. We experimented with color mixing and played with shaving cream!
This month we say goodbye to all of the Butterflies who are going to Kindergar-ten. We wish them a happy, fun filled year in their new school. We will miss you all so much!
If you have items or
clothing you no longer
need or want you can
donate them to Upscale
