Inspire Ground Breaking
On Thurs., April 12, there was agroundbreaking event for InspireEarly Childhood Center; a 23,000square foot facility on 40 acres inthe Town of Westport on OnckenRoad, right across from GovernorNelson State Park. "Inspire will offer a unique, quality,educational experience thatpeople will certainly appreciate"said Founder, and Waunakeeresident Bob Davis. Mr. Davisadded their will be exotic animalssuch as Zebras, Kangaroos, andLemurs along with a functioning barn and a Zookeeper. The animals will be visible to peopleas they drive by. Tom Wilson, Westport Administrator, commented that the event brought out officials from notonly Westport, but also Waunakee and Middleton of whom all will benefit from the facilitywhich was nice to see.

This company has no connection to Waunakee Football or the Athletic Departmentand what they are promising in terms of advertising does not line-up with the commitmentsmade last year to the stadium renovation donors. The email or phone call comes fromSports Media Advertising often with Michelle West as the contact name.

U.S. Bank will host their 13th Annual Free Shred Event for the community on May 19th at200 S. Century Ave. in Waunakee from 9am to noon. Here's your chance to take care ofsome spring cleaning! They will also be collecting donations for the Waunakee Food Pantry.
The Waunakee Police Department will be hosting its annual Bike Rodeo on Thursday, May31st from 4:00pm to 5:30pm at Prairie Elementary School. The Bike Rodeo is designed topromote safe riding habits and skills needed for young bike riders, ages 5-12. Free helmetfitting, free bike licensing and a bike technician will be on hand to help identify mechanicalissues on the kid's bikes. This is a free event, just show up and enjoy! The Bike Rodeo maybe canceled if there is inclement weather. For more information contact Police SchoolLiaison Officer Erik Schmidt 849-2109 Rose Nadler, a school social worker at Waunakee Community High School and theAlcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug Prevention Coordinator for the district, in collaborationwith the Waunakee Community Cares Coalition, is seeking input from adults on drugand alcohol use in the community through a survey. Your responses are anonymous andentirely confidential. Your participation is voluntary although your feedback will be stronglyconsidered when developing effective policies, curriculum, and programs that focus on drugand alcohol prevention. Village of Waunakee announcement to residents: You may have received a letter from TheVoter Participation Center suggesting that you need to register to vote. Maybe you do, butmaybe you don't! This letter is not being sent from the Village of Waunakee although it maylook that way. The information that may already be pre-filled on the application may or maynot be correct. If you choose to use the registration application that is included, please enteror correct your information as instructed, include your proof of residence (acceptable typescan be found on the reverse side of the application), and use the return envelope which isprovided and pre-addressed to the "Village of Waunakee Municipal Clerk."
