Centers Poems, Jokes, & Riddles Students work through a poetry book to create and learn about
poetry! Word Center Students work on word building, word chunks, and patterns,
through games, word building sheets, etc. Math Students use hands and manipulative activities to reinforce skills
taught in math large group lessons. Listening Center Students listen to story tapes, and CDs and complete activities to
reinforce basal reading skills. Reading Students practice stories and read the story onto their own
reading tape as a way to practice reading fluency. Computer Students are assigned computer games to enhance technology
skills as well as practice & review skills learned prior.
Additional Information
Book Orders will be sent home several times a year.
Please assist your child in reading one book per night.
Please study weekly spelling word lists with your child.
