Fieldtrip Information Date: May 23rd, 2014Where: Space Center Time: 9:00-2:30 (times my change)
Cost: $35.00 (includes lunch, space center tour, movie ,bus, and a 7A shirt)

IPC and Algebra Qualifications Algebra placement for rising 7th graders is based on a matrix
that includes:•Math grades• 7th grade Math STAAR\Stanford • Teacher recommendations•Algebra Placement test score
Students who took Algebra this year will automatically be enrolled in Geometry
IPC and Algebra Qualifications Upcoming …
•8th grade Algebra students will take the End of Course high school exam, not the STAAR exam.
•8th grade and 8th grade Pre-AP will take the 8th grade STAAR exam.
Algebra and IPC cont…8th grade vs. IPC• Science 8 and PreAP Science 8 includes chemistry, physics,
space science, Earth science, and ecosystems.
• IPC is a high school credit science course that is comprised of one semester of Chemistry and one semester of Physics. (*students will still need to take 4 additional years of science in high school for the Recommended and Distinguished Diploma Plans.)
All Students take the 8th grade Science STAAR exam!
IPC and Algebra Qualifications IPC placement for rising 7th graders is based on
a matrix that includes:
•Math and Science grades• Math and Science STAAR/Stanford scores
• Teacher recommendations•Placement test score
(Students who score low on the Earth and Space science portion of the placement test, but qualify in other areas maybe required to complete a one-semester
science enrichment class covering Earth/Space Science content.)
