Principals Report Over the last two weeks there have been many events and achievements to be proud of. The P&C Fete was a great success. Thank you to everyone who supported our school by attending this lovely afternoon/ night. Thank you must go to Alison for all her hard work in pulling the event together, to the community members and organisations who operated stalls/ stands and to the volunteers who gave up their time to make the fete so memorable. I know the students took great delight in watching me get “dunked”!!! It was fabulous to see so many grandparents and parents visit the classrooms and join us for a BBQ on Tuesday to recognise the wonderful contribution grandparents make in our student’s lives. On Thursday Year 6 took part in a video conference with students in South Korea. Through regular upcoming interactions students will learn more about South Korea and its culture. This opportunity will allow students to explore how their lives differ whilst identifying similarities with children on the other side of the world. Our students participated in Remembrance Day Commemorations on Friday. All students sat respectfully during the service and Mikayla and Antwaione delivered very moving poems about the significance of the day. Friday was the last day of the “25er” attendance cycle. 11 students achieved this milestone making it the biggest group yet. These students should be extremely proud of themselves. I know celebrating morning tea with these wonderful achievers is a highlight for me. In the classrooms students are still much focussed on their learning and teachers are working with them so they continue to make academic gains. I can see students making a real effort to display “Totally Proud and Strong” behaviour whilst making good decisions to act in a safe and respectful way. Our school will once again participate in the street march for the “Tingha Tin Festival” on Saturday 19th November. It would be great to see as many students as possible support this wonderful community event. This is the time in the year when we start to reflect on this year’s achievements. To support this reflective process I am asking for your feedback on areas of school operation and student achievement. Please find attached a parent survey for you completion. The feedback you provide assists the school to make informed decisions on strengths and areas for further development to support future school planning for improved student learning. I would really appreciate your support in this process.
