Parliament sessions current-ly begin with offering homage toprominent figures who havepassed away between sessionsand to victims of calamitiesaround the world.

The BJP MP’s argument wasthat martyred soldiers too mustbe remembered for their braveefforts. He had raised the matterduring the winter session of par-liament and claimed that he hadreceived support from severalpoliticians.

Even today when RajyaSabha Chairman had paid hom-age to prominent persons includ-

ing former MPs of the UpperHouse, Vijay rose to speak anddemanded that tributes be paidto martyred soliders.

“The country will alwaysremember the sacrifices of thesesoldiers in securing the internation-

al border. The loss of precious livesand injury to people in all thesetragic incidents is indeed painfuland unfortunate,” Ansari said.

The House observed silenceas a mark of respect to the slainsoldiers.

Terming the attack on thePathankot air base as a “cowardlyact”, Lok Sabha Speaker SumitraMahajan led the Lower House inpaying tributes to the security per-sonnel killed in the incident.

The House also condoled thedemise of personnel in the ava-lanche which struck an armypost in Siachen recently.
