Wedding color trends for 2017

This year, shades of blue, purple,

grey and pink will be seen. Other

popular combinations are burnt

orange, peach and plum for autumn

or winter weddings; blue, peach,

dusky rose and pink are good

wedding colors for summer.

Matchy-matchy is officially out,

with the mismatched bridesmaids’

trend continuing to pick up steam.

For a visual contrast that surprises

and delights, choose an array of

shades in the same color family to

complement the chosen décor, or

a mix of textures in similar tones.

Those extra-daring brides can opt

to mix in prints as well; giving

bridesmaids a theme to run with,

or choose just one printed dress to

let the maid of honor shine, like

a spotted print, which the fashion

world has forecasted as among the

top trends in 2017.

P.S. Guys can jump on the mix-

and-match bandwagon as well!

Consider having your guys wear

different colored suits to allow them

to have their own unique look. As

with bridesmaid mix-and-match

dresses, mix-and-match suits should

coordinate when it comes to the

tone of color. Think different shades

of brown, blue or grey.

Wedding mistakes to avoid in 2017

To help you avoid a blunder,

wedding planners say which trends

they believe would be a mistake to

incorporate in 2017.

1. Naming your drinks. No

one serves another ‘Dantini’ or a

‘Jennyrita.’

2. Family-style dinners. It’s time

to bring some plated elegance back.

3. Rustic and boho-theme

weddings. Rustic has become an

almost taboo word.

4. The clown car of bridal parties.

I know you have a million ‘best

friends,’ but they don’t all need to

be in your wedding.

5. Giant bridal bouquets—the

bride should always look like she is

carrying the bouquet.

6. The archaic tradition of the

bride’s family footing the whole bill

for the wedding. Go dutch or go

home.

7. The all-white wedding. Couples

should add a signature color to liven

things up.

8. Converse sneakers and cowboy

boots paired with formal tuxedos

and gorgeous wedding dresses have

seen their day.

9. You should decorate your

event the same way you’d decorate

a home.
