In addition to his vast trove ofsacred choral masterpieces, Bachwrote magnificent instrumental works rangingfrom his renowned Brandenburg concerti to his delightful orchestral suites, one of which, the Suite No. 2 featuring a solo flute, is beingperformed in this program. Also, Bach being a consummate organist and keyboardist, composed solo concerti for one, two, three andfour keyboards with orchestra. The f minor is oneof his finest. Like Bach’s, Mozart’s amazing legacyincludes both vocal and instrumental masterpieces. Of his twenty-seven piano concerti, the No. 20 standsamong Maestro’s favorites, and his soul-stirring Violin Concerto No. 5 enchants the senses.Running time: 2 hours including one intermissionBösendorfer Concert Grand Piano courtesy ofCunningham Piano Company, Philadelphia

Reviews
“Radu exploited inner colors in the string orchestra...The orchestral colorsbehind the four soloists prompted solo work with strength and conviction. No mystique about that.” Daniel Webster, The Philadelphia Inquirer
“Radu obtains the best of two worlds, drawing remarkably full and richsounds from his forces and yet maintaining rhythmic litheness and
textural (and textual) transparency.” James Altena, Fanfare Magazine
“[Brahms Requiem] is a disc to have...a new experience—which is what a great performance should be. This disc and that
of Klemperer with the Philharmonia Orchestra...should be in everyone’s collection.” Burton Rothleder, Fanfare Magazine
“Radu’s intense, uninhibited involvement and high energy producedone of the liveliest performances of a Mozart piano concerto I’ve ever heard...” Tom Purdom, Broad Street Review
“...Donohoe is brilliant...his digital fluency seemed to run ahead of any human brain.” Adrian Jack, The Independent (London)
“First-rate vocalists...magical. The Vox concert was a jewel – a visit to acourt gala in Castle Somewhere.” Tom Purdom, Broad Street Review
“The singers of the Ama Deus Ensemble are a cut above the averageAmerican choir in terms of intonation and control. In short, theperformance is an exciting one.” James Manheim, All Music Guide
“...You can be certain you’ll get your money’s worth when Radu leads the Camerata through a Baroque
period instrument concert.” Tom Purdom, Broad Street Review
