The world has changed a lot since 3M was first founded in 1902, in Minnesota, as an abrasives company. The company that sprung from this small abrasive business has since grown into a global powerhouse.
Much has remained constant, such as 3M’s commitment to producing quality abrasives and innovative solutions designed to help our customers succeed. Over the years, we have brought this winning mentality to the automotive aftermarket industry.
How do we consistently deliver high‑quality products and overall service? We work with you to identify pain points, to create bodyshop solutions that make a difference to your bottom line.
3M Atherstone
Manufacturing and Business Supply CentreOpened in 1964, 3M Atherstone is part of the Industrial and Transportation business. It is 3M’s only Coated Abrasives manufacturing site in Europe and the main European location for Industrial and Transportation Development Laboratory and Technical service group.
The Automotive Refinish Centre (ARC), based in Atherstone, is a state of the art training and customer interaction centre for the 3M Automotive Aftermarket Division.
3M offers the ARC and its expertise to apprentices and industry skills competitions to help support the future of the collision repair industry.
Housing a first class spray booth and top of the range equipment in the ARC, The Bloodhound team enlisted the technical expertise of 3M to help get the ‘world’s fastest car’ ready for its record breaking run.
