+ Research and Design for issues of “Walkability in Mumbai ”.The study focuses on the idea that increased pedestrianization is a critical method to achieve economic, social and environmental sustainability and aims at exploring the problems of pedestrians in Mumbai through urban design interven-tions. Focusing on some typical nodal points in the city where pedestrians face difficulty (such as railway station precincts/ hawking and informal market settings/ religious or tourist spots), the study analyzes the problems and propose alternatives to make the experience of negotiating streets pleasant for pedestrians.
The project has an internal street that runs through out the whole building . It leads the visitor from the ground floor to the top floor leading him throughout the voids (public spaces in the building ).

The building is a collection of the interior mental images formed in the users mind when he navigates the facilitywhile walking. The street in this context is a place where conversations would happen.
The street is lined with homes and shops which have windows overlooking them .The combination of overlooking and the creation of a variety of visual patterns creates supervision. The walkable corridor creates a pedestrian conitinuity in the whole com-plex.

Buildings in Vile Parle Station area have residual leftover areas and inbetween spaces that offer potential sites for small plazas, gardens, passageways and community spaces. The design proposal tries to re examine the standards for public spaces and adaptive reuse. Amend the standards to provide more open spaces in small pockets.

The Urban intervention is to be a focal point for expressiveness and identity , bustling with life from early morning to late night.
The building requires framework and infrastruc-ture which can accomodate the modular and interchangeable components of the program
The Building responds to the edges of the street and the infrastructure to aid the pedestrians.

This project was a design and build exercise in the process of which we produced collages, reinterpretations , films , postcards and pavillions to take on the challenge of expression of Russian History. Pavillion 3 , our peep show is the means by which our memories , learnings , misunderstandings , projections and fantasies coalesce into the ultimate object of architecture : the production of space.

I collaborated with Ar.Prakriti Shukla on this project. The Client wanted a traditional structure which will keep the wind and the rain out. Spatial Behaviour
Starting point
Ending Point
Observation No 1The curve always loops about itself if the value of the resultant rotation is an acute angle.
Observation No 3
Observation No 2
The points in the curve always come and join together. The starting point and the ending point should be isolated single spatial points - but
complete itself
The curve inscribes itself over and over again on the same line creating a thick lines between certain points .
A Raga (Sanskrit ) is a series of five or more musical notes upon which a melody is made.
Reading the Raga
Musical works have been used as creators of data based on frequecies. This study uses the Patterns generated by Ragas.A raga is a Melodic Framework in Indian Classi-cal Music. Ragas are meant to invoke special moods if they are performed at the specific time of the day or season. The idea was to create a comparative of spatial behaviour of ragas. Spatial behaviour overlaid in this manner can be used to understand inherent patterns . This manual also tries to describe a vocabulary to understand the spatial behaviour of the raga.
This is a study in the Visualization of Music into spatial patterns.
