Formerly known as Faifo, it was a trading port for the Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and European from the 16th
century, where silk, spices, tea, chinaware and mother of pearl were traded. Nowadays, Hoi An is a famous town listed
as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a real life museum with its colorful and numerous old architectures including
the 16th century Japanese Covered Bridge, old Chinese temples, bustling shing market, traditional ceramic handicraft

The Angkor Wat of Vietnam, one of the most spectacular archaeological sites, lies 50 km south of Hoi An. Although
partly damaged from the Vietnam War, the My Son Holy Land is still listed as a UNESCO World

are the most beautiful vestiges from the Cham civilization in Vietnam.

30 km north of Hoi An, Danang was known under the French colonial times as Tourane, and it was later a major
American war base during the Vietnam War. Some colonial houses can still be seen in this burgeoning city, as well

pepper. Visitors can also go to the Cham museum which holds 300 objects made of stone and clay, from the 7th-15th
century period. Another major tourist attraction is 8 km from the city, the Marble Mountain, which includes 5 majesticgranite peaks and beautiful caves in the Mountain of Water. Passing 157 stone steps to get to the pagoda, where Buddhist

beheaded statues are a handful of this amazing historical zone. The site can be explored by bicycle, motorbike,

Thien Minh Group is a leading operator of hotels, tours, transportation services and travel agencies throughout
Southeast Asia. Founded in 1994, Thien Minh Travel was originally set up as an inbound tour operator under the
brand name Buffalo Tours and primarily operated tours for the rst ten years. In 2006 Thien Minh constructed
the Mai Chau Lodge in the mountainous region of North Vietnam. In 2007 the company added two new business
lines: Cho Lon Tours, a former state-owned tour operator focusing on Vietnamese, Chinese, and other Asian
customers and a hotel & resort division that consults and manages properties developed by Thien Minh Group
and its partners. In 2010, it acquired Victoria Hotels and Resorts to expand its upscale and hotel services in
popular tourist areas in Vietnam.
To date Victoria Hotels & Resorts has 6 hotels in operation: Victoria Phan Thiet Beach Resort & Spa (opened
in April 1997), Victoria Sapa Resort & Spa (opened in March 1998), Victoria Can Tho Resort (opened in
October 1998), Victoria Chau Doc Hotel (opened in November 1999) and Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort &
Spa (opened in April 2001) and the last one in Cambodia, Victoria Angkor Resort & Spa (opened early 2004).
Victoria Sapa Resort & Spa was the rst hotel before Victoria Phan Thiet Beach Resort & Spa to get the full
foreign license following the subsidization of 100% foreign capital. Subsequently, Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort
and Victoria Chau Doc received their licenses too. The others properties are joint ventures with local partners.
Victoria Hotels & Resorts is now a leading international hotel chain in Indochina and employs more than 1,400
people including a multinational team of expatriates such as French, German, Swiss, Filipinos It also believes
in constant upgrading of its existing properties to cater to high end clientele and maintain a high level of service.
Green efforts are high in priority in all upgrading projects to ensure sustainable tourism and the preservation
of the delicate environment surrounding the properties. Victoria has sourced for certied Green Labeled
operating equipment during the renovations to minimize energy consumption in their new guest rooms.
In May 2000, Victoria offered 4 departures per week for the Victoria Express Train linking Hanoi to Lao Cai,
the Sapa railway station. Since November 2006, departures are increased to 6 times per week with new eet of
4 sleeping carriages and Le Tonkin dining carriage.

offering deluxe day cruises between Long Xuyen and Chau Doc. Le Jarai offers a spacious dining area, open air

comfortable speedboats.
The Lady Hau, provided by Victoria Can Tho Resort is a remodelled rice barge, available for breakfast, sunset,
and dinner cruises. Built in the delta province of Tien Giang, it was designed as the barges that have been used
for decades to ship rice from the delta to Ho Chi Minh City.
In 2011, The Lady Hau has been totally renovated, lower part of the hull has been replaced, the roof has been
changed, and re alarm system & water level alarm system has been installed.
Victoria Hotels & Resorts has long believed in the strong tourism appeal of Vietnam since the early days,
and thus preferred to develop properties in off-the-beaten track locations where there were no signicant
competition. Their choice of these laid back locations has played a signicant role in putting these destinations
onto the maps of international tourists and tour operators, thus earning the hotel group several awards over the
years, including Pioneering Distant Destinations and Best Hotels by the Vietnam Economic Times.
Siem Reap was subsequently chosen to further expand the spirit of French Indochine within the hotel group.
Needless to say, future expansions would be focused on locations that enable Victoria to keep this spirit alive,
and the deep sense of adventure.
The success of Victoria Hotels & Resorts lies on the unique combination of below:
Choice of location: with gorgeous views on the Mekong Delta at the river intersections; along the far stretchesof beautiful South China Sea beaches; deep within the mountainous range of North Vietnam; cradle of the
Angkor Temples.
Atmosphere: charming hotels with Indochine style and French colonial architecture, quality furniture
from Vietnam and Cambodia and preservation of local handicrafts.
Quality of services: combination of both discovery and relaxation with a wide range of activities; the comforts
of a rated international hotel (swimming-pool, bars, restaurants serving quality cuisine, sporting activities,
spa) and nally impeccable welcoming and attentive services.
