CAMOGIE
SENIOR B CAMOGIE CHAMPIONSHIP
Valley Rovers 3-10 V’s Aghabullogue 0 -02
Our senior B girls played their second round robin
game of the championship last Friday night in Ovens.
Valley Rovers playing with the aid of the strong wind
dominated this game from the throw in, opening up a
five point lead in the opening ten mins with pointed
frees from Susan O'Leary and points from play from Liz
Buglar, Eileen Foley and Orla Deasy. Aghabullogue
tried hard to get back into the game but the Valleys
defence proved a tough nut to crack and continued to
put the Valleys on the attack time and. Valley's
dominance continued throughout the first half with
both Katie Lynch and Orla Deasy adding a further 1-1
each. Leaving the half tym score Valley Rovers 2-7
Aghabullogue 0-0.
The second half proved to be no different to the first
despite Aghabullogue playing with the wind as the
Valley's defence working well as a unit held tough and
limiting aghabullogues chances. Allowing Valley's to
press on Susan O'Leary added a further point from a
free before Orla Deasy added another goal. Eileen
Foley and Liz Buglar added points throughout the
second half. Aghabullogue did score two frees in the
second half full-time score was Valley Rovers 3-10
Aghabullogue 0-02.
Valley Rover's senior B camogie next championship
outing is not until August 23rd against Kilbrittian.

U16 “A” Hurling Championship
Valley Rovers 3.05 V’s Coursey Rovers 1.17
Valleys U16 A’s travelled to Kilbritain last Thursday
night to play Courceys in the first round of the West
Page 4 of 5
hurling championship. Courseys got the better start and
led by 4 points when a long range effort from Conor
Taheny went straight to the back of the neck. Valleys
took the game to Courceys but for a number of soft
frees would have been closer at half time. Courceys led
0-11 to 1-4 at half time. Courceys kept the pressure on
but some excellent defending and a great save from
Dylan Hoey kept valleys in the game. Courceys
threatened to pull away but goals from captain Cathal
Cronin and Jonathon Kenneally kept valleys in the game
until the end. Courceys ran out winners 1-17 to 3-5.
This was a great effort from the lads as this was
Courceys first team. Thanks to excellent cooperation
from the U15 and lately U14 selectors this enabled us
to enter a second team and the lads trained excellently
for this.

Valley Rovers 3-05 Douglas 2-08
Our C3 hurlers played out a very entertaining draw
against Douglas in Brinny Monday evening. Our lads
started strongly scoring 1-1 without reply in the first 10
minutes. However Douglas then got on top scoring 2-5
with Valleys responding with a point to leave the half
time score at 1-2 to 2-5.
Having missed a number of scoring opportunities and
losing position due to over-elaboration in the first half,
we asked our lads to play direct hurling in the second
half, they responded magnificently scoring two great
goals and tacking on 3 points and holding Douglas to
just 3 points.
Both sides came close to getting the winner as the
clock ticked down, but a draw was a fair reflection of
the effort of both sides in the end. The “second leg” is
on Friday evening again in Brinny when we again take
on Douglas this time in the C3 football league.
