Course Content
Our mind is a maze that we can often get lost in. With the help of the LSI
diagnostic tool (Learning Styles Inventory), module two provides a map to
the mind – exploring how we think, unpacking the stories we tell ourselves,
and understanding how mindfulness can be a breadcrumb trail when
seeking clarity.
MODULE 2 INVOLVES
> Understanding individual thinking styles and exploring your own
self-talk using the Life Styles Inventory (LSI) diagnostic. This is
followed by a speed coaching session with an LSI accredited coach
> Delving deep into the concept of mindfulness, including an
immersive mindfulness workshop with a leading expert
> Learning from experience – connecting with real life leaders via a
Q&A panel who speak openly and honestly about the challenges and
triumphs of their leadership journey

women’s leadership at its best.

Compass founder and key facilitator, Fabian Dattner is one of Australia’s most recognised leadership
experts. Twice voted one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence (2015 and 2019), and a silver award winner
at the International Stevie Awards for Women Helping Women in Business, Fabian has given two TED talks
and is the author of four books on leadership. She is also the co-founder and CEO of Homeward Bound,
a global initiative that equips women with a background in science with the skills to influence decision
making and policy-making as it informs the future of the planet. The program, which culminates in a 20-
day expedition on a ship in Antarctica, launched in December 2016 and is estimated to have reached more
than 300 million people through coverage in the NY Times, Forbes and global media. A feature film based
on the program was released in June 2020. An unconventional thinker and compassionate leader, Fabian is
an unforgettable facilitator who has inspired and coached hundreds of women to take a more courageous
path.

Michelle has coached hundreds of women and knows first hand how they can be their own harshest critics.
She is a pivotal part in the delivery of the Compass – Visionary Leadership for Women program.
Constructive leadership remains at the heart of what she does, and she knows it is needed now more
than ever before. She brings these insights to her coaching and facilitation practice, supporting other
leaders through their personal growth and change commitments. As a Director in both Dattner Group and
Homeward Bound, Michelle is mindfully committed to social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
Since 2005, she has been the financial steward of the business, enabling a more stable proposition of
success. Success in business for Michelle is to build more inclusive and sustainable resources, reduce
inequality and focus on agility and resilience during challenging times. She is accredited in Life Styles
Inventory™ (LSI 1 & 2), Group Styles Inventory™ (GSI), MSCEIT™ emotional intelligence diagnostic, Myers-
Briggs Type Indicator™ (MBTI) and DiSC© personality diagnostic. These tools are integrated into her work
with individuals and teams at various levels.

Cass joins the Compass Leadership Program for Women as a facilitator and coach with a shared passion for
purpose and values driven leadership. For women to step into their full potential it can take a huge dose of
courage at times, and Cass believes that women do this best when they do it together, collaborating, sharing
knowledge and committing to the change they want to make. Cass is no stranger to courage, navigating
career and life intersections around a drive to always learn and make a difference. As a veterinarian, this was
all about animal welfare and the human/animal bond, then contributing at a sector level in Animal Health
industry leadership roles. With two kids under 5 she completed her Masters (a decision, she might tell you,
was a little ambitious in hindsight!), taking her learnings into the resources sector to work more broadly across
STEMM fields, growing the leaders who are tackling the challenges around our energy future. Having worked
on assignments across Asia Pacific, including shipyard village life in Korea, Cass returned to Australia in 2016
with her family. Having walked alongside women leaders in challenging contexts, her resolve to change the
representation of women in leadership led her to Dattner Group, where she is a consultant and co-director of
the coaching business.

Over the past few years we have had a number of our senior women attend the Dattner Group Compass program as part of our initiative to improve diversity in our business, particularly in leadership positions. The feedback from our attendees has been overwhelmingly positive, with most stating that the course has been transformative and invaluable for them from both a personal and professional perspective at home and at work. After attending the course all our participants stepped up into more senior roles and I have no doubt that the skills they gained on the course helped them to flourish in these roles, giving them the confidence and tools to be heard at work and at home. This has helped us to increase our gender diversity to 38% and in particular increased our diversity in leadership roles and as a result we are seeing improved business performance as an outcome.
